A lot of negative nancies on here. Yes Cage made a lot of crap movies over the years but he has also turned in gritty and authentic performances in Leaving Las Vegas, Lord of War, and 8mm . .
Seriously? Cage in Leaving Las Vegas was nothing more than Cage playing himself drunk and in pain. He sucked.
I'm going with a tie -- Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp. Both of them made an obscene amount of money, for doing nothing.
George Clooney is decent at playing himself, but nothing beyond.

Please tell us how that is not successful? Is your bar $50 million per movie--which no actor gets?
successful does not mean successful actor.
Maybe you should read the title of this thread.
I retract my Tom Cruise statement, Keanu is much worse.
I forgot about Snatch for Brad Pitt. That was a great role. Fight Club was also a good showing although he had to go up against one of the greats, Ed Norton.

Sandler was actually funny on Ssturday Night Live. That was his niche. Now ad sn actor in full length films, I agree thay he is dreadful.
He s*cked on SNL. Opera Man?

Agreed. Pitt was actually very good in snatch. For those who haven't watch it it is an excellent moved. "Never trust a Piker."

Good one. Cant believe it took us this long for someone to name him. Even if he wss strictly an amateur, he would barely qualify as adequate.

I would say Nicholas Cage, meaning Face off was one god awful movie.
You haven't begun to plumb the depths of his leading role awfulness. However he has some solid lead roles as well.
Which starts the debate is he the worst or best? There are two right answers. Peace in the middle East is an easier topic with less passionate debate.
Larry Olivier
Brando. The guy couldn't even remember his lines.
Will Ferrell.
It took me until I got to the word "actor" in the original question to think of that.
He sucks.
Nobody has said William Shatner?
Charlie Sheen. Not funny and can't act

I thought he was great on Family Guy. He did a hilarious William Shatner impression.
I like Anthony Hopkins, but I think he is one dimensional actor considered how revered he is as an actor.

He was great in Wall Street. Went downhill after he started just playing himself in various roles.

Hands down Harrison Ford has accomplished the most as an actor with the least amount of actual acting ability.
some of the above picks couldn't do an Irish accent if their lives depended on it
