Mo Farah!
He never faced any competition, he never had to beat anybody!
He always just won the races!
How ridiculous is that.
Seriously.

Sheesh. A question about actors and you celebrity-obsessed Kardashian fans will still turn it into a David Beckham thread. There is no let up with you people.

Sandler is worth $360 million and makes $20 million per film.
Please tell us how that is not successful? Is your bar $50 million per movie--which no actor gets?
successful does not mean successful actor. Nobody ever considered him a good actor, and no real actor would consider that a success. He's a successful hack.
Jim Carrey however was considered a good actor by some people.
Overall, I agree with this assessment about Pitt and especially Cruise.
I've always found Cruise to be bland. It's often the other actors that lift the movie he is in. Rain Man is another example where this occurs. Although Tom Cruise was not that bad in the Last Samurai.
You mention Beckham. Well, he's not a very talented actor either as people will see in 'King Arthur'.

Came here to say Sandler. Absolutely zero acting talent.
Waterboy is one of the greatest movies of all time, should've won an Oscar for this performance.
I dislike Sandler movies as much as the next guy, but he was actually pretty good in Spanglish.
Brad Pitt was good in Moneyball.
As much as I want to say Ben Affleck sucks, he has come a long way since Chasing Amy. He's gone from suck to average.
Cruise would probably be my pick for worst successful actor short of purely comedic or action focused guys like Chris Rock or Vin Diesel.
Leonardo DiCaprio. Worst successful actor ever.

I enjoy Adam Sandler movies. A majority of his movies are extended SNL
skits. Like SNL skits, some work and some don't. His romantic comedies (50 First Dates, Just Go With It, Blended) are okay. I would have to say that he is a better actor than Cruise, the Afflecks, and Keanu. I read somewhere a couple of years ago that Sandler is the only actor that can guarantee a good opening weekend.

Taking action movie actors out of the equation, Ben Affleck.
He's nearly as wooden as Matt Damon
Actors from the 50's and 60's were better actors and better looking!
Compare these 2 to someone like Gregory Peck.
We should exclude purely action movie actors since acting is almost always horrible in them.
I would have to disagree on Tom Cruise. He does pretty much play himself in every movie he's in, but he can deliver his lines and bring the right emotion at the right time and look genuine. Compare that to pretty much any movie Nicolas Cage or Brad Pitt have been in. Brad Pitt in particular is just plain bad. I had friends in high school who were superior actors. I also really do not care for Matthew Mcconaughey and have to wonder if he really talks like that all the time or just for the movies. Sounds like such a tool.
A lot of negative nancies on here. Yes Cage made a lot of crap movies over the years but he has also turned in gritty and authentic performances in Leaving Las Vegas, Lord of War, and 8mm .
Cruise is apparently an awful human being but the guy brings an intensity to the screen that is hard to argue with. Some of his classic stuff like Risky Business and Color of Money is pretty damn good. His performance in Magnolia is downright unsettling and Vanilla Sky, Edge of Tomorrow and even the last couple MI films are pretty decent.
Pitt is a goofball that lacks the intensity of someone like Christian Bale, but Pitt still stands out as a super character actor in 12 monkeys, River Runs Through It, Fight Club, Snatch, Big Short, etc.
Happy Gilmore was a fantastic movie, so shut the hell up
I agree on Sandler, except for The Longest Yard, which was decent probably because it was just a remake with some of his typical raunchy shiite. And that movie That's My Boy has to be the worst ever..really, child molestation and incest as the principal themes?
I always found Robert Redford as a non-actor since he plays the wooden pretty boy in all his movies, absolutely no emotion and B. Pitt is clearly his spawn. Ok for action movies, but nothing going on behind those pretty blue eyes.
Mark wahlberg is a worse actor than ben affleck, brendan fraser and keanu reeves in nearly every capacity. He is child-like in how he reads his lines and doesn't have the emotional depth to do anything other than grimace when appropriate. He's also an awful human being, but his acting is just horrid and hasn't improved as affleck has given the same countless opportunities.
Why are people mentioning comedians and action 'stars'? They're not actors.
I don't care for Tom Cruise, but he was good in "Born on the Fourth of July."
Keanu Reeves is embarrassing.
Johnny Depp after his early movies. He is insufferable. Plays basically the same character all the time - eccentric, weirdo in a costume.
Like him or not, Tom Cruise is a hell of an actor. Add Rain Man to the list of his films already mentioned. Brad Pitt and Keanu Reeves on the other hand are not.
