Had my first encounter with a restaurant that does not take cash. Debit or credit cards only.
I admit I was nonplused for a moment since during the first half of my life there was not wide spread use of bank or credit cards and there was even a period that some restaurants offered a small discount for cash.
The world changes and I attempt to adapt.
Is no cash at all a common thing in your town?
I went to a Nike outlet one night and bought some Nike free fly knits I really liked. I asked the cashier do you take cash. She responded humorously giving me a hard time. "no, we accept first borns." "And virgins." Her associate added.
I share that because I only had cash and was thinking it possible that some places only take cards . You're right OP it should be the other way around. Cash is the gold standard except maybe at some exclusive club trying to keep the riffraff out and demanding customers use fancy platinum credit cards or something.
