Sally's stable genius....
"Barr, during a meeting with Trump at the White House in early December, told the president that such theories of a stolen election were "bull$hit," Axios reported Monday.
Trump reportedly confronted Barr about his comments while in the private dining room next to the Oval Office.
"Why would you say such a thing? You must hate Trump. There’s no other reason for it. You must hate Trump,” the president asserted, according to Axios.
Barr responded that "these things aren't panning out" and "the stuff that these people are filling your ear with just isn’t true," Axios reported. The attorney general reportedly emphasized that the DOJ had reviewed the major claims put forward by the president's lawyers."
Are President is closing The Gap! It's back down to 19 percentage points!

What I find rather hilarious is that Ted Cruz may now be facing a serious primary challenge FROM THE RIGHT. Apparently some Texan GOPers aren't convinced that he was *sincerely* trying to overturn the election results.
Come to that, I'm not convinced of it either. IMO just more cynicism and condescension (and contempt for the voters) from Mr.Smarmy.
That's a good analysis, but I think there is one more X factor.
Nobody knows what will happen to Trump and his influence in the next couple of years. Trump could easily become even more unpopular as the first ex-president to go to prison. Or as the first ex-president to flee to exile. It could even come out that he tried to diminish security at the capitol on January 6th. Anything can happen.
Sometimes when the political calculus becomes to difficult, politicians just revert to doing the right thing. That puts most of the Republican caucus up for grabs.

Enter Don Jr.! LOLz
Yeah, going to prison or into exile might diminish his influence. The real question is if he can retain relevancy as a President that lost reelection and that has no Twitter access. The answer is obviously no.

I was firm before the attack that he would continue to be a potent influence on the GOP and electorate, but I'm losing that argument to FP now. Trump really found a way to $hit the bed and destroy himself. Talk about going out with a bang. What a massive loser.

A while back I read an article noting how many times he said it will be revealed in 2-weeks. Dozens of times. Always 2-weeks.
Trump could always say two weeks because there would be dozens of new stories to analyze in those two weeks that there would not be a chance to follow up on anything two weeks later.

except the people at the rally were the ones who could afford to go, so it's only a portion of the idiots.

The people everyone saw rioting in the capital looked like a bunch of crazy lunatics. Just as the looters and property destroyers damaged the legitimacy and credibility of BLM the idiots who broke into the capital were a bad look for "stop the steal". People who might have been sympathetic to the Trump movement will not want to be associated with that mob in any way.
"Advisers say Trump will spend an extended period of time in the Sunshine State, surrounded by a small circle of close aides as he plots his next steps"
Any plotted steps will be in the direction of a brick wall.

Who the Bleep cares how they look?
You should care about how they act.
Media is suppressing info of people who get sick/ill, have negative side effects or outright die from the vaccine. Narrative manipulation in full effect, yet they search high and low for sensationalized stories of young people who are hospitalized from covid.
