07/03 Data
Happy July 4 to the Americans on the thread .
At a key point in the history of the nation. Let's hope the country's spirit can push through all this. Certainly we've had lower points.
As for COVID...The country is scraping along a cyclical low in the 7 day average of daily deaths. Actually 7/3 was the lowest day yet, since the other side of the curve in late March.
BUT LA County won't be reporting any data for a few days due to a systems upgrade. So US stats will not mean much for a week or so.
Deaths are clearly ticking up in the Big Danger states FL CA. Florida's deathtoll is moving up rather quickly, hitting new highs regularly. Still just 46 people per day, (compared to NY's 900+ deaths at the April peak. But heading up.
AZ is also heading up, and I'm sure if LA County were included in the numbers CA would be at new highs too.
I'd guess that FL and AZ and CA will head up the curve but they won't get as bad as NY because of improved care and catching people earlier in the disease.
The world has had rocky stats but I think it's fair to say plateauing.
India is doing that COVID thing where every day is a little worse than the day before. New high there nearly every day in the 7 day average. But just 426 per day, which is tiny on a per capita basis.
