The chaos of 2016-2020 is in no way driven by political ideology.
If we elect a true liberal we will still get a relative return to normalcy.

Giving health insurance to ILLEGALS is EXTREME. Killing babies who survive botched abortions is EXTREME. Eliminating 180 Americans from private insurance to implement Medicare for all is EXTREME. The Democratic party is EXTREME and Nuts!

But your post did get me thinking. What happens if we do elect a moderate?
Would a moderate solve climate change? No.
Would a moderate solve the border crisis? No.
Would a moderate solve the student debt crisis? No.
Would a moderate push for a living wage? No.
Would a moderate address money in politics? No.
Why is it that you want a moderate again?

Global Warming is a crock and no moderate needed to solve it.
The Border CRisis can be solved by effing SECURING THE BORDERS. Moderate can do that.
LIving wage? Where did this come in on your leftist political handbook?
Moderates are needed all around.
Why would you ever support the nutjob liberals who now make up the Democrat Party? Explain that to me.

Any honest reading of the Bible says that we should be kind to immigrants and show them hospitality. It says we should care for the sick without regard to where they came from or who they are.
I can cite dozens of passages if you want.
So tell me Sally, is Christianity too EXTREME for you?

I've explained it here many times. My political views stem from my Christian faith.

I fully support one's opportunity to worship which ever deity he or she worships too. I want us to be kind to all immigrants but is there no limit? Must we allow ALL illegals seeking increased opportunity into this country. India is a hellhole. What if 600 million of their people sought refuge here. We of course can't support them but you would be okay allowing them all access to health care here?

that's just lame
would a leftist make college free? No
would a leftist put a wealth tax on the rich? No
would a leftist make crossing the border legal? No
would a leftist eliminate private health insurance? No
would a leftist put the green new deal in place? No.
Why would you want a leftist again?
I mean come on. Dig a little deeper. The American political system doesn't respond well to massive shocks like trump or a warren/sanders. It won't do the things they are promising.
The country works best when Ds and Rs aren't that far apart and can get bills passed. Not when one side puts up a super aggressive agenda that pushes the other into a corner and obstructs everything.

It's not the 1980s any more.

Climate change is no longer a leftist agenda. It’s become a world wide issue only a fool would ignore (Trump). It will become an issue for all political parties.
Believe it or not the border crisis is no crisis at all. It’s been used a a republican call to arms for purely political purposes.
Agree. The student debt crisis can only be solved by an extremist. A massive default might prompt some action by a moderate however.
Agree. Living wage
Agree. Money in politics

I suggest that we treat all who come here with hospitality and kindness. That includes health care. That includes due process for asylum claims. It definitely does not include stealing their children and housing them in filthy cages.
Again, is the Christian faith too EXTREME for you?

Solving the student debt crisis is easy. Repeal the Trump tax cut and put the resulting revenue towards paying off student debt. Instantly solved.
Not true.
Your thesis is that we can't really get anything done. That is not acceptable. Climate change alone will destroy this nation if we don't address it.
And why did you change the examples I cited?
Would a liberal solve climate change? Yes.
Would a liberal solve the border crisis? Yes.
Would a liberal solve the student debt crisis? Yes.
Would a liberal push for a living wage? Yes.
Would a liberal address money in politics? Yes.
The answer to all of those is "Yes". We have done big things before and we can do them again. It's not easy, but it can be done.
And when the pendulum swings hard in one direction, it swings back hard in the other direction. Ironically, Tiny has created the catalyst for the progressive movement to really take off.
I don't understand why you would want to go back to politics as usual.

I can see this going either way.
First, there is no way trump is going to get more than 46% of the general vote. Based on his drastic shift to the right since becoming president and the 2018 results he’s going to net lose votes and possibly score as low as 44% of the vote.
Second, trump hatred is massive and irreversible amongst Dems. The quality of the Dem nominee is of secondary importance. Basically Trump has campaigned for Dems while to trying to secure his base vote.
Either trump is going to win on low general turnout (in line with re election history) or he’s going to lose if turnout is high. High turnout will be dependent on the level of hatred for him still being strong come election or the Dem nominee firing up the base. There is a good chance both of those conditions will be in place.
Trumpers assuming he’s just going to crush anyone in the current line up because they are weak are not thinking straight. Recall that in 2016 a major driver behind his win was the fact that people were sick of politicians and disliked Hillary. Not only has trump proven to be a very scummy lowlife mobster politician, he is hated. Come time to vote, I personally don’t give a flying fk who in on the ticket, there is no one close to being as awful as Trump and that is more than enough to get my a$$ out to vote.
I’m convinced the numbers are stacked against him but still trying to come to terms with how much of an advantage he has as POTUS and with Twitter. My gut says he can easily blow this and get wiped out, but it is too early to tell.

I don't think that's the reason.
Let's let agip explain why the time is right for a moderate.
I've supported moderates most of the time. I've always been a big Biden fan and I preferred him over all others the last time he ran. But this moment needs bigger changes. Much bigger.

My daughter who just finished her freshman year in college is working an unskilled type job. She’s making $11.00/hr. I made about $15.00/hr for pretty much the same job 30 years ago.
