Supposedly Trump will offer DACA for the Wall. I think he has no leverage so Dems won’t say yes to something they already offered. I think it would be a good deal, both sides win, even though a wall the way he wants is stupid and ignorant.

Offering DACA is a nothingburger. As hard as Trump has tried, he cannot shut it down. DACA is not going anywhere. So, no reason to offer a wall for something Trump doesn't actual have full control over (DACA).

Again, the issue is not who paid for the dossier. The issue is whether it is true or not.
So far, everything that can be verified has been found to be true. Nothing in the dossier has been found to be false.
If it's all baloney, why have there been so many indictments and convictions?
We know the collusion happened and we know it was pretty extensive.
Tiny is going to prison.

I think the Dem line of thinking is no negotiation until the government shutdown is over. The reasoning being if they agree to anything while / because the government is shutdown for the next ~2 years the GOP / Trump will continually threaten to shut down the government over every single issue on their agenda.
We need to move away from shutdowns as a leverage point / bargaining chip. This method of “negotiating helps no one and does unnecessary harm to everyone.

+1. The R strategy of shutting down the government if they can't get what they want legislatively is very corrosive to democracy. Procedures need to change to stop them from doing this over and over again.
Ultimately, the two problems are the debt ceiling, which is stupid. Get rid of that. And Mitch. What a crappy leader of a great legislative body. He totally refuses to legislate unless the president is on board. Sure, they have to work together, but Mitch's total and utter bowing and scraping to Trump is obscene and undemocratic. He needs to lead, not be an obsequious follower.
UNLESS Mitch's real plan is to let Trump hang himself with this shutdown. So the regular GOP can survive and pick up the pieces. That would be amusing and quite a feat. It's sort of working - trump's approval ratings are diving - lowest in a year.

That's been the logical solution all along.
For the poster who says the president can't fix it alone, he's sort of right. But presumably, the fix would be written into the legislation. So you could do a comprehensive deal that:
1. Opens the government
2. Funds the wall
3. Provides permanent residence and a path to citizenship for the dreamers
I just don't think Tiny will go for it because it would be the kind of legislation that makes for good government. He doesn't want the government to work properly. He's trying to break it and bend it to his will.
I really think he believes that sowing utter chaos is his only chance to stay in power and avoid prison. And he might be right.
Out of the goodness of his heart, he MAY even let Dems fly in a plane!
Our President is an absolute moran. His self proclaimed "brilliant idea" is to have his supporters to pay $20 to have a fake brick sent to "Chuck and Nancy". Most of the cost would go to Trump's reelection campaign and his wall is to be built with steel or cement and not bricks. There is no way the Post Office is going to devote the resources to deliver tens of thousands of faux bricks.

The thing I don't understand about the wall is why it seems so binary. Trump seems to be insisting on a 2000 mile wall, from ocean to gulf. Which can't happen, won't happen and will not happen.
The Dems are fine with walls where they make sense, and they all all for border security.
So stop with the binary wall/no wall.
Have an agreement for 100 miles of new border wall and fixing old walls, and increasing tech for border cops. It all seems so simple to me. Stupid politics.

It will go to the Supreme Court and with Trump's new Justices it likely to be declared unconstitutional. Trump will want use it as a trading chip for his wall but polls show that 80% support allowing them to stay so it might not be a good strategy for him.

Trump personally ate the leftover fries until there were none.

Add in McConnell's ignorant strategy of refusing to allow a vote on anything unless Trump approves. That results in McConnell forcing a 60 vote requirement to pass anything. In other words, he is trying to turn the 53 republican count into a 60+ veto override majority by forcing Dems to flip to Repub.
So, let the moran McConnell continue his game of 'unless-Trump-approves-nothing-will-be-voted-on', It is a death keel for the GOP.

3. needs to be not only a non-Trump erasable path for dreamers, but also for future dreamers, and asylum seekers. Asylum seekers must be allowed a proper path to entry into the country and citizenship, and not played around with as Trump, and his racist, Stephen Miller, having been doing.
Trump will never agree to do a proper fix for DACA, dreamers, future dreamers, and proper asylum seekers. His base would further lose their minds.

Which has not stopped Trump from starting to seize private property.
About two-thirds of the land along the border is owned by private landowners or U.S. states. Usually the government evaluates the land and then offers a market rate price. If the property owners refuse, the attorney general can seize the land by calling “eminent domain”—a process also known as “condemnation”—turning the land from private to public use. Landowners can fight for more compensation through U.S. District Courts.
Many of these cases are underway in Texas where 90 cases are still pending after the government moved to seize border land in 2007. The government projects it will cost about $21 million to resolve the suits.
In one instance, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) spent $78 million to get the land to build on just 211 miles of the southwest border, which took about 330 lawsuits.

Just too much smoke. Again, a news report that wasn't even refuted by Mueller's office but that parts of it were "inaccurate" is no reason for Trumpers to be elated.
Could be flat wrong, but remember, there are 17 different investigations going on right now that involve Trump from many different prosecutors. Could be that Buzzfeed got info from someone other than Mueller's team. Too many other things that have proven true.
Trump is going to prison.
Mueller is coming.
