Half of runners doesn't have 6pack. It is genetics.
I don't do core and eat halfway bad, but always have had abs. And many others run more than me, eat healthy and no six pack.
And guys without abs, when they start to train less, they start to gain fat weight. And if they completly stop running, they get very fat - from 140 to over 200lbs.

I run 70-80 kmw and have about 5 kilos of excess weight most of it on the belly. I'm a biggish strongish guy who's 50, though.
Genetics and getting low % body fat OR increasing the size of those muscles through training.
But as long as you're running fast who the F cares?
