Good morning :-)
Goals: More Personalized Browsing Experience for Users, Less Work for Moderators.
Proposal: Two features to embed into a thread: 1. Follow and 2. Mute. Since we do not currently "sign in" to LRC, this would be set up per IP address.
1. Follow: Click "Follow" to move a thread into a "Followed Threads" box. An IP address may display X (10? 15? Some set, smallish number) "Followed Threads" at a time.
2. Mute: Click "Mute" to remove a thread from the individual's IP address. A Muted Thread simply disappears from the Feed for that IP address. A User can Mute an unlimited number of threads.
Rationale: What is offensive or trolling to some is entertaining for others, and it is frustrating for users to see a thread that they have invested time and thought into deleted. If someone wants to see only Running Threads, they can Follow their favorites while muting the others and cleaning up their Feed. If someone enjoys Political threads... you get the idea.
Thanks for considering, and thanks for a great site :-)
