Fat people can get AIDS too. AIDS no longer has to kill a person by them wasting away. You can have treatment that masks most of the effects and still get cardiac myopathy.

I was once at the funeral of a 42 year old. Died of heart failure. Never smoked. Never did drugs. Drank but not in excess. Clogged arteries were the cause of his death--part hereditary and part not the best diet choice.

I was once at the funeral for a 38 year old. Died of a brain aneurysm. Retired Marine who smoked pot and drank hard as a teen before joining the Marines. Cleaned up his act. After getting out no drugs. Drank but not to oblivion. Died 6-months after getting out; engaged.

Since when is alcohol not a drug? More accurate: "drinking and using OTHER drugs."

My point being it is a shock and a tragedy when a child dies of cancer, when a young person is killed by a drunk driver in a car accident, or when someone dies from factors outside of their control. The death of someone who treated their body with distain is not tragedy, and is more accurately a predictable outcome based upon the lifestyle choices that they made. People are quick to dismiss the Bible, the Torah, the Koran, etc. as outdated books, but they essentially are telling people the same thing as the National Bureau of Health Statistics or the Census poverty statistics about different lifestyle choices.

The National Bureau of Health etc doesn't say the same things as "The Koran" as far as choosing the correct religion to preserve health.

Plus most of the characters in those books were banging more randoms than GM.
