how do unattached athletes get entered in this meet? I can't find anything on the Hillsdale College website about entering the meet
Contact head coach Bill Lundberg at: Bill.lundberg@hillsdale.edu .
Who is scheduled to run this? Hansons guys? Any info would be appreciated.

Too funny, I provide a link for info and you ask for 'any info.' Write the coach.
look at the previous years results, they should give a good idea as to who might run (ie what schools)
Hansons are normally there, Central Michigan, Michigan State, EMU, Indiana Invaders, Calvin, Hillsdale, several of the Wisconsin schools, Ohio State are going this year I believe
Lumberg f'd her.

Question from Hilly26: how does an unattached athlete get entered in this meet?
Response from Scotth: contact billlundberg
How exactly does providing the email address of a coach, in response to a question about an unattached athlete gaining entry to the meet, answer my question about what schools/clubs are planning to be there? I appreciated the response from "hillsdale meet" with a short list of probables.
As for your suggestion to write the coach, the meet director won't know the entries 4 weeks ahead of time so writing him wouldn't answer the question anyway. I was curious if anyone planning to participate would read this thread. Second, if someone writes the coach saying "hey heard on letsrun.com you had a meet coming up, just curious- who is coming?" do you really think he'd reply to that?
they should care, more unattached athletes paying entry fees=more money into the program. d2 schools aren't rich, so they could use every dollar they can get
Hansons always runs, CMU, EMU and alot other good runners that come from smaller schools. The field will be there.

Great idea! Instead of posting the info here where everyone can read it, let's all e-mail the coach individually so that he can spend his valuable time answering hundreds of e-mails about who is or isn't running at this meet!
Mac, I'll stand by my answer. You asked for 'any info' and if the coach isn't a prime candidate to answer the question, particularly Bill, nobody is. He would be able to tell you more than you want to know...and knowing and admiring the long-time Charger coach - he would.
It doesn't matter how you frame your question to Bill; he's a smart guy and is capable of filtering out the solicitors from genuinely interested athletes. Another person asked how Bill would like 'hundreds' of (Letsrun) people writing him; that's an exaggerated scenario, unlikely to happen. On the other hand, it's a big meet and he probably does receive plenty of calls and emails. I'll bet a single answer to a Letsrun poster would make it's way here.
It's a terrific meet and as distance-rich as can be. Cross your fingers for good weather in 4 weeks time.
Obviously Bill is the man to talk to for official info regarding the meet and I don't doubt he does all he can to promote the meet. I'm not saying he isn't capable of answering the questions, but with the meet a month away he simply cannot know who is in and who is out. I guarentee you there are good people planning on going(or waiting to see how Mt Sac goes) that he doesn't yet know about and that won't declare until the week of. I was wondering if there were any rumors or official news as to who might fit this category, thats all. Letsrun is full of rumors so i figured someone might have some info.

Depending on how London goes I believe that both Haile and Tergat are both planning on being there. Mottram is cofirmed as is Ritz.

Say it ain't so Mac! Ha-ha...I share your interest in the Gina Relays and others have indicated who's shown up in the past and this year will probably be just as good. It's become one of my top 5 events to work each year.
For the record, if it's Letsrun possible entries you're interested in, phrase your question to target them. One more thing; do you want to know who's running because, 1. You're interested in knowing who your comp will be, 2. You're a fan and want to know who to watch for, 3. Both?

I know a few athletes who may want/need to participate depending on how the next few weeks go. My days of competition (on that level) are long since passed, so I guess that limits me to option 2!
I'm 100% with you on hoping for good weather. Its been up and down here in the midwest lately.
"he's a smart guy"
Puh-leeze give me a break.
Ah, yes, no Letsrun thread is complete w/out somebody from the 'dark side' tossing in their .02 worth.
