Received the book yesterday afternoon. Had finished it late evening. Ran a 5km Park Run yesterday to gauge fitness and 8 x 400m easy at what would be pace for 1km reps this morning covering around 9m total. No stiffness, almost floated through each 400m rep. At 5am UK time i'm feeling no effects of the race or the session thus morning and looking forward to 1kms tomorrow.
FWIW i'm 36 on/off runner for 18 months and historically no high athletic performance at all. Any running i have done more recently though has been traditional 2 x sessions, long run and rest easy somewhere between 50-60m per week. Kinda mentally liking the play aspect with this too rather than straight 7.30-8 pace for 8 miles. 2 10km races in March so lets see where the next 6-8 weeks takes me. Guess the mental aspect is going to be most challenging dropping traditional easy / long runs and not wanting to hammer each day like its a session.
