Any word on what's going on with the Michigan women's asst? Do they already have someone in mind?

He's not going to LSU. It has absolutely nothing over his position at Ole Miss. 0% chance he goes to LSU. Move on.
Yes I agree with you, but one can hope. Either way, Vanhoy would be a much better candidate than Randy cole that's definite. Now let's ALL move on

OSU has their facility 5 years and many have bare bones seating so thats not an excuse. Program has had full funding for 4 years with 18 fulls and 3 years of good pay for assistants. Sullivan had about 13 scholarships devoted to distance and was losing to programs such as Portland St (with like 2 scholarships in xc), Sac St, Idaho, etc in cross and even Western Oregon, a D2 down the road was producing sub 2:10 800 meter runners out of local girls and OSU never had a sub 2:10 gal in 800. In last 5 years they had like 3 women score in the Pac 12 meet and only 1 make it all the way to nationals on the track.
Time for a change, no energy within the program this spring. Question is who will be interested and which direction the new AD at OSU elects to go with the program.
Ken Goe mentioned the George Fox and WOU coaches on Twitter as possible replacements.
Since the AD was at Utah State for a while maybe he'll get someone from his connections there. He was at Washington before that. Does that line up with the time when JD came to UW? He's a great choice if interested.
I second Randy Cole for LSU, he has coached in the South/Midwest region and really knows how to build a program from the ground up! Look at what he did at Wyoming...stellar!

What about Lindenwood? Program hasn't improved under his watch.. The biggest hit LSU takes with this position would be the ability to recruit top middle distance talent. Seems like KD was doing a great job in that regard. I assume LSU wants to focus more on long distance and less on the middle distance events??
Eric Houle from Southern Utah for the Oregon State job.
That makes sense. Sullivan was making $98,000 so I'm sure it would be a nice pay raise for Houle.
Wayne State job open
Texas A & M Corpus Christi job open (someone earmarked for this?)
The George Fox Director of Track & Field is a career NAIA/DIII guy. Does he have what it takes to keep his head above water in the PAC 12?
Mike Johnson from WOU DOES have D-I experience, and has done a decent job of building some athletes from the ground up at Western, who can run with and beat lower tier D-I athletes. I know he did stints at Washington and Boise State many moons ago, and that may be his problem, he's getting pretty old. Can't imagine he's got much more in him as far as years, especially in a situation like Oregon State.
Despite what you read, they are still very much in a fundraising situation because they would like to one day bring back the men's program, which I've been told requires at least a 6 million dollar endowment just to have a bare bones cross country team that does track.

1. speculation
2. Houle is applying
3. done deal
4. complete BS rumor
Which is it?
I think Maynard could bounce into the Oregon State program and do some actual work, like he did at Boise State, as opposed to baby sitting the egos of UCLA Track alum 95% of the time, which let's face it, is job description #1 in Westwood.

I nominate Eric Houle as the new Brad Hunt or Layne Anderson! This guy's name has been brought up before trying to get the hell out of Cedarville...time to up that game and put his name in (whoever does it) for anything & everything!
Eric Houle to LSU , heard it here first
Expect these names among the finalists:
Texas ast head coach Seth Henson who is from the area
Boise head Corey Ihmels
Former Lane CC head Grady O'Connor
Former Cal-Davis head and a former assistant at OSU Drew Wartenburg
Duke assistant Rhonda Riley, also a former OSU assistant
Retirement ??? Overdue in Columbia, SC !
Obviously they need to hire David Dumble ASAP!!! An amazing coach and even better person! This is a no brainer...

Lindenwood men were actually much improved this year in xc, had an 800-meter qualifier indoor, and had D2 runner-up in steeple. In years past, Cole has recruited and/or worked with athletes who were top 3 in D1 in 800, 1500, mile, and xc as well as an 8:06 steepler.
Belmont on USTFCCCA website...

Jumps or distance experience needed. Anyone know what is going on there?
Would not be surprised if he got the head job. The admin are already building him new facilities for throws. He would be a wise investment for them.

What's the name of this 8:06 steepler he coached? I didn't know he coaches someone who could potentially break the AR in the steeple
