Question? Will there be any turn over of coaches after the cross country season? Perhaps some teams that under performed?

No.

95% of the cross country coaches are on contracts that start and end during the summer after track season. But there are some coaches that will have to renew their contract in late December. And I know at least two coaches that will be sweating bullets during these next eight weeks. One coach in CA and one in FL are on the hot seat!

Really? Since when did any administrator give two sh!ts about their XC teams performance to the extent that they would fire them - much less mid-year? Outside of maybe the SEC & maybe Oregon & USC...and maybe a very small handful of other P5 programs, this doesn't happen. Team/athlete performance is VERY low down on the job description for most college programs.

I have doubts about you being a Power 5 coach...
Track coaches are not fired at the same rate as revenue sports. But I can remember at least 5 coaches at the DI level alone, who were fired for performance and no other reason. All of them were named on this thread at some point. I know there were more, I just can't remember all who were fired this past summer.

You'd be surprised who I am...but probably not the school I coach at. But I have doubts about those coaches being fired for athlete performance...care to name them?
Nobody wanted that trash job
No need to apply. It's nothing but a formality.

You hire a young person if you are not confident in yourself. You hire a yes man who knows very little, someone who has gone through the USATF training, someone you can boss around just to make yourself feel important. In reality, hire some one who is useless as breast on a bull.

Brain surgeon! The coaches that I am referring to also coach track and field. And they are on the hot seat because of their body of coaching work over the last few years in track and field and cross country. I never once said that anyone was getting fired because of a single cross country season.

I stand by my comments.

Shut up
Hannah Chapel-Dick turned down the full-time job. She just coached for the fall. They have tried hiring this fall but nobody took it. Was posted as a fulltime Director of both cross/track. Now just Head cross job. Have had success getting high level individuals. They desperately need numbers. If you know how to recruit big numbers then they will love you.
Adding insult to injury, but since it's already on the boards:
Stiedel-Seattle
Richardson-UTRGV
Sullivan-Oregon State (who retires for a few weeks)
Maynard-UCLA (retired, but not really)
And some assistants:
Spangler-Florida
Slekis-North Texas
Louisiana State-Robinson
I probably missed alot, but these coaches and programs got a lot of mention on here.
None of these programs appear to have any scandels. Just coaches who were deemed to be underperforming.
ADs care about results.
Maynard Got Fired for Improper Use of Team Funds
Via team athletes
Spangler: underproduced Women’s group considering amount of scholarships given to him. Great pick up fo Boston U
Slekis: decent x’s/o’s coach but was too aggressive and showed inappropriate behavior to athletes she coached. HC of abysmal Nichols st program
Robinson: HC didn’t get along with him, wants assistants to be yes men, and Robinson wasn’t. Group seemed to do well despite lack of scholarships, which seem to clearly go to sprinters. Head XC at Ohio State.
What is the word on the Western Illinois head track and field position?
These gigs pay shhhhhhit
Southern Methodist University seeks a throws coach.
Don't bother applying the bring someone from the mid west a very good coach
