I am providing confirmation on the Joe Lynn hire at UNC-Charlotte. This is a very good hire for them. Coach Gibby planned this out well.

Joe Lynn is the new Charlotte coach. News just delivered to athletes today. Thoughts?
So this should open up a position at UM-Ohio?
wow only lasted a year under chorny....
Just got the "thanks for applying, but..." email from Drake. Looks like their assistant positions are being filled now. Should have announcements soon.
Anybody know whats going on with the Adam's state position?
Good news

Good news for Charlotte, but to attribute it to Coach Gibby's good planning gives too much credit to coaches for having control in this process. That would mean that coaches at other schools (some where coaches even left before Gibby, like W&M) had not "planned well." To an extent everyone is at the mercy of a better offer, something recruited athletes would be wise to understand.
Speaking of W&M, who's getting hired there?
So much uncertainty in the RMAC. Where is Adams HC Rock Light going to land? Speculation says Colorado Mesa but that closed a month ago and there is still no announcement.
Who replaces him at Adams and I think there is still a HC opening at Western CO also.
Late starts for these programs. Kids arrive on campus in two weeks nor knowing who the coach is. No uniforms or shoes sized or ordered. No communication. It's a little pathetic. Show some passion.
Certainly somebody has inside scoop on a few of these distance jobs?
W&M- ?
Auburn- McGregor?
ASU- ?
Charlotte- Joe Lynn
Miami of Ohio- ?
From what I know Gibby strongly recommended Lynn to the directors. So he somewhat did have control....I believe this is the reason why Lynn was found and picked so quickly. Majority of time situations like this don't roll this way. Although I will give Gibby credit on this one. Very smooth transition. Well done.
Any news on NC A&T distance position?
They posted and then reposted. I applied the second time, but I have not heard anything. That is a little unusual since at my experience level I usually get a "thanks, but not what we are looking for" email if I do not get a phone interview.
Very good team, even without Belcher next year. A higher profile position in my opinion, than some of the other jobs getting a lot of play on here.
Wish I had heard something...
Agreed!! I met several All Americans who became horrid coaches on the collegiate level. Ended up not coaching at all. Meanwhile there are several fantastic coaches that were never spectacular in high school or college (some with great military backgrounds) that are passed over because the newly hired coach was an all american with no coaching experience. Pathetic.

How much experience do you have? I think they're looking for someone with 5+ years of collegiate coaching experience.

7 years, mostly DI...a lot of experience and success with American minorities as well (although I'm white). Very little international experience and no experience with east Africans though; maybe that hurt.
Just curious who they were going with. HBUs usually seem to have a tough go of it, but from an outside perspective they seem to be thriving.

No way Vanhoy pulling in 110K. He is too inexperienced to justify that kind of money. I couldn't find the salary database online, but maybe someone has better luck than me.
I'd still be surprised if he left Ole Miss, unless he feels heat from administration regarding infractions of some sort.
...or until the runners that Gavin Kennedy recruited, finally cycle out....and no more runners to poach from other schools---and there have been many. His work on the backs of others about to come to an end.

Any word on who got Missouri S&T?

You obviously don't know much about SEC track salaries. Someone like McRaven at A&M even makes nearly 100k to coach an event area with no scholarships.
McRaven also has three times the coaching experience. It takes time to build up to those levels. Ole Miss would have been foolish to offer a "10 year old" that kind of money out the gate. $60k seems more likely...
