Also on Wisco, In XC, I'll take Solinsky, Teg, Bairu, Withrow and any number of guys as a #5 vs. anyone Arkansas can amass including Cragg and Lincoln. Madison would have been a good place for Cormier because he is a lot like solinsky, high mileage not a ton of speed, and Solinsky has done very well at Wisconsin compared to what his high school rivals have done elsewhere.

and to just be a dick, wisco actually needed the #5 man this last year...

what about adam perkins handing off in first in the DMR and getting 6th in the 3k. He was not a footlocker finalist and is in only his second year at ark.

who the hell has wisconsin ever produced on the international scene? stanford?

the fact is, basically no one produces u.s. runners on the world level on a consistent basis - we get one here or there, but that's it.

for as good as stanford was in the late 90's, did they ever produce a world champ or olympic games finalist? (not counting 10k where there were no heats)

All of this talk about education is hilarious. I went to the u of tennessee and u of S. Florida and U of Wyoming. Check out their standings. But what's funny is that my best friend went to Williams...you know, that consistantly ranked #1 liberal arts college and we've both agreed that the only thing she received in addition to me is richer friends and a school that will baby her for alumni monies.

screw education, this kid could can go pro out of college, especially out of Arkansas. smart kid, just look at the interview from Men's racing. He knew how to train in HS and he knows where to train in college. case closed.

lets take the average salary from those schools then?

you can become filthy rich without ever going to school, let alone a good one. lebron james is a perfect example of this. as long as you've got stupendous talent, or an incredible idea, then you can conquer the world.

but for 99.999% of humanity whose education plays the major role in determining their livelihood, the best education usually (but not always) yields the best results.

there is a reason why harvard, yale, princeton, etc are ranked at the top, year in and year out. its because the movers and the shakers of this world go there. the last 3 presidents went to yale, as well as john kerry, and dick cheney (dropped out).

I was recruited by them way back when they had only 1 national championship. All the teachers and older people told me to steer clear, like a degree from that school would be a liability. They were all full of shit.

Sounds like a great place to train and get an education.

The University of Arkansas also has one of the 50 largest college endowments in the country, and one of the 20 largest endowments among public schools.

UA was also beneficiary of the largest single gift ever to a U.S. university ($300 Million) back in 2002, and the largest single gift ever to a business school ($50 Million) in 2000.

Is that person great because of the school they went to or becasue they are great, smart, talented, etc..

There are a lot of successful people that go to Ivy League schools. That is why there are a lot of successful graduates of Ivy league schools. It has MUCH more to do with that then the actual education they receive (or don't receive) at these schools.

One more thing, I do not care how talented Cormier is or how fast he is. Cormier looks STUPID in those glasses. It really matters very little what I think but I thought I would put in my opinion anyway.
