I'm from a very, very hot place a couple hours north of Mexico. In the summer months there, we regularly endured 100+ degree temps for 30 or more days straight. (That's why I moved away as soon as I was able to.) It is impossible to do much more than sleep or laze about in such extreme conditions. It only makes sense in a place like that to take a siesta in the middle of the day and then work deep into the night. But no, anchored to the American system, nobody there has even thought of doing that. Just turn up the AC and hope for the best. It's idiotic.
By the way, to the guy who said Mexicans are lazy, I doubt you and your 50mpw could last a week doing the work that my Chicano, Caucasian, Black and Asian brothers did on construction sites, in dry river gulches and in the fields under a 110 degree sun.
