Dude, what are you trying to prove here? As I understand it, Stone was a football player first, track athlete second. And the football coach was less than thrilled with the amount of time he spent on the track his first year, so he laid down the law the second year. In fact, I don't even know if he ran his sophomore year. He did run his junior year, but Huffins was already at georgia tech at that point.Is the implication that Huffins can't develop athletes?
I did-I do. I missed that year. Anyway, I still think he runs his mouth more than he can coach. But time will tell.
You obviously have never seen him coach--he's actually quite skilled at both (coaching and running his mouth, that is)
As it turns out, John Stone did run in 2000, and got waxed by Shawn Crawford at ACC's. Additionally, Huffins coached former Cal decathlete John Bull to an ACC championship in 1999.
Let me correct myself. Officially, Noel Ruebel was John Bull's coach. But the reason Bull went to Wake was because Huffins was there, and his success in '99 was due in large part to Huffins' guidance.
