Impressive running form with those big quads.
Does anybody know the recovery times?
I don't know, man. How come the 400 was at the same pace as the 800? The 500 was quicker. He slowed down for a shorter distance, shoulda held back on the 500 and gone overspeed for the 400.

This was from 2015 not long before he ran 2:13.08 1k with a pacer that did not do him much help. With a better pacer, he had quite a good shot at Ngeny's 1k record.
To the gills

nah, you can use your own pace and don't have to overtake anyone.

Not average but like JohnQP suggested, you don't have to overtake anyone when you run a time trial by yourself. 1.44 in training gets you 1.46 in race at best.
So, is it an all out effort?
sure looks a lot faster from that video angle than what you get watching track races

Yep, sure!
Everybody knows that middle distance runners run their PRs during workouts. What the heck, Rudisha was breaking 1:40 every other day before the 2012 olympics.
