I mean if you do any training in these shoes, they won't last more than a month and a half. What kind of runner doesn't do workouts in his or her flats though?

Yes! This is what Nike should be ashamed of!
Send them back to nike. Don't they give retail value back on any shoe not yet 2 years old?

I don't even own a pair of flats.
Your running intervals too fast. Slow down your paces.
LMAO mine just ran out after todays invitational only 150 miles...and a knee injury.
bump
Tell me about it. I was running a marathon in Berlin and the insoles started coming out of my Streak 6s. Nike gave me a new pair and I won a gold medal.
Streak 6 and lt3's both going strong for me for 8 weeks, thankfully. I'd also suggest that 150 miles on any minimalistic type flat is fairly significant.
Why do you hate America and capitalism?
They got your money. It's all good.

I did this with a pair of spikes that crapped out way sooner than I thought was appropriate. Got a full retail price credit online.
Nike stands behind their stuff. Nike is great.

Let's get this right, you are referring to the Nike Zoom Streak 3? I just bought a pair on ebay (actually about 2 months ago but I haven't used them yet). I am usually a size 11 but somebody listed a size 11.5 for only $30 with free shipping in brand new condition. What I did notice was that even the 11.5s were really too tight in width, so these versions that are tearing but be too small.

Yes, thats the shoe. they don't feel too tight to me, I use the same size as the streak lt 2, which never ripped. The streak lt series has an inner foot wrap thing and then the regular upper. The inner thing on the streak lt 2 was good and you didn't notice it. They completely changed it for the streak lt 3. Now its like a piece of cloth someone punched holes in. It tears within a few runs. This means the foot isn't locked down and is swimming in the shoe basically. Eventually the outside upper, which is a different construction than the streak lt 2 tears as well.
I'm kicking myself for not stockpiling streak lt 2's when they were discontinued, but the reviews made it sound like the streak lt 3 was going to be a good continuation of the line. Knowing how nike operates (the xc 3 to streak lt 2 were all basically the same shoe), we have about 3 models and 6-8 years until they get this problem fixed.
If anyone is wondering, the streak 6 upper is designed to be super breathable which I guess would be good if you're racing in a humid place like Rio, but its so breathable that its barely held together and rips open in like a couple weeks, maybe 100 miles. You can use them for another week or two before your foot is punching out of the shoe because the holes in the sides have gotten so big.
Thanks, good to know, I bought the green and black model if that sounds right. Got them to race 3-5k maybe a 10k. The half size bigger does feel tight though. Now I'm worried, I plan in the next two months to see how fast this old ship will go, the last thing I want to worry about is my shoes.
Got a pair of Victory 2s spikes, just to reminisce the good old days, and I could see these lasting a couple races at best. Most of their best paid (Mo, Centro etc) use the Victory 1s.
Anybody here got any views on the Nike Lunartempo's? Like how well they last?
Anybody got any views on the Saucony fastwitch models as an alternative for 5k?

Seriously, the OP is out of touch. Many runners only train in one pair of shoes.
My Lt 3's are showing no signs of wear on the upper. The only thing is just worn rubber by a little bit. I love my Lt 3's and I'm gonna get the Streak 6's when they're done. You can't beat how light the Lt's are and how they're so supportive for being as minimal as they are. I've gone 7+ miles in them on tempos and progression runs with no foot pain or beatings on my legs. I usually experience foot pain in my pegs but not my Lt's. Maybe you had a bad run in but mine are strong after 8 months.

They feel great on my feet. No foot pain or beat up legs, which is why its such a shame that they rip so fast. The streak lt 4 hasn't improved the problem either, now they usually rip at the toes in under a month instead of on the sides. I remember getting ~ 800 miles per pair of the old streak xc's - lt 2. Then nike just screwed things up.
