Yeah, I can relate.
I like to run at night, especially if I am unable to run in the day time. Everything is calm at night time, and there is no wind.
A female officer once stopped me because she felt that I didn't have on enough reflective gear, which was pure bullcrap. I had on a brooks canopy jacket, with a reflective strip that runs perpendicular down the middle back of the jacket. Also, I had on a reflective ankle straps, that can be seen in the front and back of my legs. She was just flaunting her authority, and was shocked to see a black man running PROPERLY on the elbow of the road.
I simply said okay, and gave a few more okays. She was trying to engage further, but nope! I wasn't falling for the Okey Doke. And then she threatened me, saying if she sees me again wearing not enough reflective gear, that she was going to ticket me, or some crap she was making up. I simply said Okay, again, and then took off.
She was fat, all stuffed behind a steering wheel, and I guess she felt the need to put me in my place, or whatever.
I don't understand the intimidation. I really don't. When I see people training or doing some kind of fitness, I get inspired, or study what they are doing if I want to add some elements to what I do.
