That's fine.
I think David Horton wanted to be nice. In the last couple of years I asked around with a lot of old time US ultrarunners and nobody could say anything about Frank Giannino. Probably because he never did a ultramarathon ever. As his website says.
Pistol Pete approaching 50 miles for the day already. Nebraska seems to agree with him.

Remember he's in central time now so it's an hour later in his day.
He passed the half way point sometime today too. This is his 23rd day.

Halfway in 22 days and a few hours... can he complete in 44 days and a few hours? He's got 2 days of gravy (3 if you consider the first half included a 0 day).
Our little "guess the stop point" game has made the facebook page (I'm guessing the crew is reading this thread!). Make your guesses and win free schwag! :D
https://www.facebook.com/petesfeetaa/Pete is at 77.1 miles now. His longest day? I wonder if this will fit in with a half-day or rest day to adjust to Central Time.
Pete's from Boone, Iowa (through high school), Ames, Iowa (college at Iowa State) and Lincoln, Nebraska. Not only his formative years, but most of his lifetime he has done his distance training on these midwest farm roads. While many ultradistance runners might find drudgery from eastern Colorado to Ohio, I envision that over these next 10 days, Pete's heart is full!
He made 70 miles in close to 12 hours. Then what like an intentional easy 7 miles in 1:30. He has been doing something similar the last several miles. His first 40 seems to be at a really good clip. Then ease up the rest of the day.
As for the guessing game, well, he stop on driveway of someone's property. Tough to guess where the stop point will be when someone offers a stay at their home.
He has been doing something similar the last several *DAYS*.
77.47 miles today! Biggest mileage since day #2, I believe.
Yep, and he passed the halfway point today, the 23rd day. Now 1,584 miles.
Half of 3,100 is 1,550.
If he doesn't take another zero he will do it in less than 46 days.
For ultra fans, here's another thread just started. Jim Walmsley just ran Grand Canyon Rim to Rim to Rim, wearing Pete's shirt.

At slight math correctino: He took the halfway point at 22 days plus a few hours of running today. He could take a Zero and still be on pace for the record.
Daily bump. My favorite thing on the internet right now.
Is the total planned distance 3,100 miles? I thought it was and so 1,550 would be half.
If the average speed indicator is correct, he's moving a little faster today than the last couple of days.
Any word on how his body is holding up?
Since he got to the flatlands he has rolled through 40ish miles at about 6 mph. Then he takes a long break. The rest of the run goes much slower and brings his average speed down, 5.5 mph or lower. That seems to be his plan; quick 40, easy 30.

Relatively, relatively.
How up-to-date is the tracker? The path eventually goes right past my work. It'd be neat to see him pass.
Tracker is pretty much real time...What I see is two minutes old right now. Time always is eastern time for some reason.
If you click on the Blue line it will give you the proper time at the marker points (blue dots, and current position arrow).
If you click on the More option in the box that pops up you can copy the LAT and LON values, paste them into Google.maps (using only the values, and not the LAT or Lon names) and use it to measure how far away he is from an upcoming point.
