Wheating ran 3:30/1:44 in his first races on the European circuit.
Farah was not close to that level prior to 2011. With Salazar, he ran 3:28 high twice. Prior to Salazar, I think that he was a 3:33 1500m type.

I hope Wheating does not go to Salazar because the only way he runs well there is going the PED route. But desperate athletes make the best puppets.

We aren't talking about a change from despair. There was no reason to believe he would let Alberto coach him.

In 2008, his best 1500 at the time was 3:38.02. In 2008, he barely squeaked under 3:40. 2007 was 3:46. 2009 saw a jump to 3:33.98. In fact, 2009 was a huge improvement year for farah. From Wikipedia:
"January 2009, Farah set a new British indoor record in the 3000 metres, breaking John Mayock's record with a time of 7 minutes 40.99 seconds in Glasgow.[31] A few weeks later, he broke his own record by more than six seconds with a time of 7 minutes 34.47 at the UK Indoor Grand Prix in Birmingham,[32] a performance which commentator Steve Cram called "the best performance by a male British distance runner for a generation".[33] Farah attributed his good form to a spell of winter training at altitude in Ethiopia and Kenya.[34] " 2009 was not just a year for massive improvement, but also the first of his multiple episodes of collapsing at the end of races, attributed to "low iron and magnesium".

This is one of the principal contributing factors that keeps the sport of track & field at the minor league level.
Really, we can't talk about an athlete being 'traded' from one training group to another? It's not enough to under-race and have non-disclosure clauses about contracts and earnings, but we also have to sit on our hands and wait for any news regarding the 'professionals' in the sport.
If we warranted coverage on ESPN or in major media, what exactly would the talking heads discuss, Workout Wednesdays? This is the sports and entertainment business, not the Manhattan Project.

And finished next to last, 7 seconds behind the winner. The only guy who looked worse than Wheating was his teammate, Jordan McNamara, who finished last.
