I'm not saying he designs products, as you imply. (Although he did cut his jersey, and it appears Nike makes a cut jersey for Rupp.) I'm talking about the altitude, the sponsored training groups, the long term approach, the breathe right strips, the underwater treadmills, the soft ground training, training athletes in "lower" events to prepare for fast-finishing races, and maybe even the grey area supplements. He's been very transparent in saying he won't break rules. People seem to have taken his honesty and genuine enthusiasm for creatively playing within the rules and turned it into something nefarious.

I'm actually a big fan of Salazar and think his gray area style of coaching is perfectly legal and incredibly smart.
Not whining, just stating reality. USATF would change or null a rule of Nike requested it.
I will add that it's the mad scientists at Nike who are coming up with this stuff. Salazar is just the smart coach who actually tries and uses some of it (hats, aero tape, etc.).
