According to wikipedia, he is 5'10 143 lbs (I would have guessed 160.
I was going to say there is no way he's even close to 200. He just looks like it next to the 120-pound elite marathoners. You guys have no idea how emaciated an elite is in real life.
Thoughts :
So cool to see Rupp medal. He didn't seem to settle for bronze, just couldn't catch silver.
Wow what a race by Ward. That is a true lifetime achievement. Well done!
That course was awful. All those turns, lame finish, armed guards all over, and hardly any spectators.

Say what you will about him...the man gets results.
Some things are more important than results. Like how you treat others. And Salazar treats others like dirt.
No, he does not treat people like dirt. He sometimes is overly direct, or Boston East Coast direct.
He has some mistakes in his past. But, I can name you a long list of people je treats just fine.

So disappointed to see Flanagan leave a congrats for Rupp off her twitter feed. I expect that JV attitude from Goucher and the bird flock. But they are colleagues at Nike. Suck it up.
Yeah, I though that was poor form from Shalane.

I threw my cup of coffee at that bunk. Dez Lilesa doing the X sign and a bunch of other nonsense like he just got a bomb from Romo in the Super Bowl.
His actions were obnoxious, but would have been okay if he'd been in the act of doing something important like catching a football? Way to have your priorities straight...
Good olympics for USA. See ya'll in 4 years

That's kind of the point, right?
Classless? wrote:
The definition of classless is Lilesa doing 100 yards of hand signals and bullcrap right before the finish line. And then he ignores Rupp and stomps around the finish line mat.

Think Rupp was the one ignoring everyone except for Salazar. Understandably he was spent, but I never saw him congratulate Lilesa who passed Rupp keeled over to greet Kipchoge. Then Kipchoge has to TAP Rupp to get his attention and give him a hug and Rupp is very half-hearted about it. Then instead of finding his teammate Jared Ward who's just come in, he goes to find Salazar. Big hugs there. Then Ward has to find Rupp to congratulate him seconds before his TV interview.
Rupp obviously is very solicitous of his NOP teammates like Mo in the 10,000, but I think he has very cold social skills for those not in his inner circle. He is the worst hugger except for when it comes to Salazar and that speaks to me of Stockholm syndrome.
I loved that Mo happen to do his pushups right when they were interviewing Rupp. Typical!
Kipchoge was only being nice when he said Rupp could set a world record.

My favorite shot of the Olympics was during a daytime track feed for a women's 800m heat. Woman who comes in last is wearing yoga pants and a pink v-neck tee. She just collapses to the ground. Good effort!
(She actually had to be taken away in a stretcher, but I'm sure she's fine.)
At least Korir justified his selection by Kenya...
