Got this press release. Why would Nike want to promote barefoot running? Wouldn't that cut into their business a little?
I guess they are doing it to get booties into their booth where then then can sell them shoes and attire.
===================================================
Join the Running Barefoot Team (all it takes is a pair of bare feet), or cheer us on. Here's our final schedule of events (sure it's short, but it's sweet)
Saturday, 2005 March 5, 2:00pm, 2:30pm, and 3:00pm, Los Angeles Marathon Expo at the Nike booth. Ken will be quizzed by Nike about the benefits of Running Barefoot.
Sunday, 2005 March 6 morning; Marathon starts at 8:15am, and the barefoot team will start meeting at about 7:30am in the Wilshire Grand lobby if they don't kick us out for not wearing shoes (in which case, we'll just loiter in front of the hotel). Look for bare feet!
