Can we get a splash page, Rojo?
FI appealed. Thanks goodness, it was overruled.

Why the f is there 10 heats of the 200? So the 25 second 200m runner from Kiribati can run in the Olympics?
Yes. Better in their own lanes than in the 5000m getting lapped and taking out our girl;s MCL.

Good point.

As noted, Filip had little choice but to take the chance of being DQed. I dont blame him at that point but I also don't disagree with the DQ.
I don't think Grice needed to be advanced.
I'd be upset too if I were the Germans (seeing Grice advanced) but then again isn't their guy the one that was alleged to be another guy who fell off the map or something? There was a thread about it.
Agreed. The German should probably be advanced instead.

The position that Filip found himself in just before the shoving was entirely his own making. He ran poor tactically and found himself boxed in. Then he tried to shove his way out. We don't need to refrain from criticizing the shoving because he ran stupidity earlier. Actually, he deserves even more of our scorn.
Maybe so, I'm not endorsing or excusing. I'm just saying his options were:
1. Do nothing, not advance.
2. Bully his way through, maybe advance, maybe DQ.
Yeah, but that's not far from saying that one of the also-rans in the 800 meter final should have taken out Rudisha halfway through the race because there was no way they were going to beat him otherwise. And, hey, maybe they wouldn't get DQed for some reason. Who knows?!
