That was an epic kick by Kiprop.
That said, I am kind of rooting for Makhloufi at this point, which I never thought I would say. I am no more confident that Kiprop is clean than Makhloufi, and Makh-daddy brings a really positive - even warm - vibe to the track whereas those news reports made Kiprop seem like a violent ass, literally pulling out a gun when people give him grief in Kenya.
How many years til Makhloufi gets banned for 2012 and 2016?? Americans getting promoted both times!
You seem to be struggling with the meaning of the word 'official'

I can't beleive this is happening again. Makgoofy is doped to the gills - what is he doing that he is not getting caught? It's no wonder our sport is seen as a farce by the armchair NFL fans who only watch track once every four years. I never thought I would see the day that I would have to defend our noble sport against the likes of NFL, NBA, MLB etc. druggies. It's such a sad time for track & field. Thanks a lot Makgoofy, Gay, Russians et. al.

who ?
In regards to your other post about Lagat/El G/Noah on the 800, I mostly agree. Although I am far slower, I ran my best 1500 time when coming off 3-4 weeks of 800 training before moving up to the 3k. I think for one to excel in the 1500/mile, they must have good times at both 800 and 3k/5k
no
the best way to train for 1500 is 1500 training
maloofi ran what couda been, after rounds !!!, accounting for whopping ~ 4.5m extra on bends off suicidal 23.5 opener for him, an ideal race of ideal splits of 24-mid, route-1, etc
~ 1'41-flat / low
curious to hear your thoughts vent
who ?
what makes a better miler? coming from the strength (5k) side or speed (800) side?
ok, i will offer an answer
viewing/anaysings vids can offer a conclusion
Komen in '97 had just come off '96 of 7'20.67 !!!
his listed 1500pb that day was 3'34+ ???
obviously utter nonsense
in '97, he clearly shifted more to 1500/mile despite 12'39WR, run off basically 1500 training
i say this, because i saw his 3'46.3 in '97 on tv but didn't tape it
i seen it know & analysed it :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNJvjal6FbYin a criminally huge field, Komen got shoved at least twice at the start, got so fed up, he took a straight right turn into lane 3 !!!
he then ran an utterly suicidal sprint to get from the back to ~ pole behind wabbit in ~ 100+m !!!
he then did lot of unintentional leading for hicham & Komen still did further wide running in last lap & still kicked in last 400 of ~ 54.4 !!!
he looked to have run ~ 12m extra on bends including suicidal sprint in the 100 - 200 part of start !!!
that day, if not that stooopid sized field, paced ideally to bell at even pace, all tight i lane-1, he wouda been looking at
~ 3'43+
i'd suggest, endurance is always better for 1500 than speed
you can find speed with weight-training, you can't find endurance without brutal hard mileage
Ryun in '67 had brutal mileage & was best 1500 or 800 guy who ever drew breathe
his 1500 is legendary
he set 800wr the year before as kid because he had such huge natural speed reserve at 6'2 with incredible turnover for big stride built-in
he set the 800WR in '66 when nowhere near his '67 peak when so ill he shoudn't have been running !!! with a prelim 880y just coupla hours before
he did this off 1500 training
so, for most guys, it is best to do over-distance training & lot of weights to build up speed but little mass gain
this essentially is what the east german women did : big endurance with huge weights because of dope
that's why koch/daute/krabbe/gladisch/oelsner didn't look "abnormal" physique, but they coud probably squat into 100s of pounds for 1-off
strength = speed
providing little bulking up
felke, the only woman to ever throw 80m could allegedly squat more plates than the east german wrestlers !
all runnning events need serious weight-training with maximal strength gain for least bulking, which separates contenders from champs from GOATs
that is the ultimate key to running...

Agreed. Kiprop is yet another generic interchangeable Italian-doped Kenyan who cheated his way through the ranks, beginning as a "junior." Makh may be sketchy as all hell, but brings a great personality to the table.

Haters will say he's JUICED up and I'll have to agree. Nonetheless incredible strength to take down these 800 guys who all they have is speed. Clayton also has nice strength but not like MF MAKHLOUFI
Mak beat Murphy be less than half a second but you say he's dirty but Murphy is clean? Talk about a double standard.
Without the years of androgel Makhloufi wouldn't be good enough to qualify for the Olympics.
The Makh is a Machine! Only had "some massage" and two hours of sleep before his heat today. If he gets a full night's rest before the final GUARANTEED WR!!!!!!!!!!!!
"I had some massage after the 800m," he said.
"I was in my bed at 4 o'clock in the morning and I slept only two hours!

Although the OP is obviously trolling, worth revisiting this to say: NO. Kiprop looks a class apart, very much as all the other male favourites on the track have won comfortably.
For all Asbel's undeniable style, the 1500 looks a foregone conclusion. At least Ayana might run a super fast time. Kiprop will jog round in last, come up to take closer order with 500 to go and then kick clear to win. Farah-esque.
