And with all of the lapping of slower runners, Ayana probably ran that WR over 10,100 meters!
Sub-29 without the extra distance. How silly would that have looked?

I could actually see a situation where the track is short either through pure incompetence of the folks in Rio or corruption and desire for fast times at these Games.
Incredible performance. Interesting fact Ayana's time is also almost exactly 3:00 slower than Bekele's 10K WR of 26:17.53
You can measure the track on Google earth, I just did and got 400.18m...obviously not the best way to measure a track but it can't be a long way out
And those who say the track is short are equally stupid. The 800 heats were ran and times were typical prelim times.
She was basically 2 mins off of the men's world record, because without the lapped runners in her way, her time would have been in the 28 min range.
this is disgusting....
Maybe it is just another Monaco's track?
You're saying it's the most doped race of all time, more doped than the 1500 at London. It's possible. I'm going for the fast track theory as so many athletes ran PBs.
Sonia O'Sullivan just said she doesn't believe the performance was clean
Says she wasn't even tired
An extra 400 meters from lapped runners? Lol.
I just hope they save the testing samples for a long time, so that they can repeatedly look for newly detected substances. Testing isn't perfect, but retroactive testing (aided by tips of what to look for) is a step up.
I'd love to know the first clean athlete in that race, whoever it is.
2008 - Beijing Olympics - anyone remember the weather? Maybe warm and humid is best for 10,000m?

She ran 29:17. I'm saying she lost about 15-20 seconds, and they way she looked when she crossed the line, wasn't even close to be tired. ...come on, man
she could easily run 28:58 or something like that.
Short track? Hilarious. You guys do realize there are people who have to certify the track and field in advance, right? Same as with the pools for swimming. Funny how people grasp for the most absurd explanations for what they know are unbelievable times. It couldn't possibly be...doping.

She said that (On TV or printed? Twitter?) I usually hold back and don't toss out accusations, but this is another athlete that people need to think more critically about.

Or, doping is okay because WRs are the only way to attract an audience.
I wonder how Epopia gets Kenya's special treatment from the IAAF.
Closed in 14:31 which would be good for the 20th fastest 5km of all time. vroom vroom
Wow, the most doped up chinese world record is finally off the books and you guys still aren't happy. A talented african has the WR, everything is as it should be. Give it a rest with the accusations!
But you knew the accusations were coming. People are so indoctrinated with the drug obsession, and brojos feed the whole thing for click bait.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
