It's a reasoned, thoughtful choice. Being a liberal is the most easy, unthinking, gutless decision you can make.

Ugh..
Colorado Springs is literally the worst town in college. Beautiful setting that is squandered by small minded, arrogant people who refuse to recognize they actually live in a city of over a half a million. Worse traffic than Denver- only 1 interstate goes through the city and everyone is on it. Sprawl everywhere. No controls on growth or planning. A laughable "downtown". A useless airport.

I'm curious how you're calling Fort Collins (1:15 drive) a suburb of Denver, and not calling Boulder (35 min drive) one?
Good question. Not a perfect answer, but I just think of Boulder as its own attractive entity- stronger on its own than Ft. Collins.
After this statement, you have no credibility.

Actually, you got it pretty close... except CO Springs has 16% hispanics. I've lived, worked in diversity many years. No more, as it usually has some of the *wrong* diversity. Years of unpleasant experience & now pleasant experience aren't wrong.

So many liberals are at the stage of drunkeness 2-3X per week, hangovers, trying to find themselves & getting a kick out of being liberal.
If a person in their heart's truly liberal- more power to them. Too often, it's a phase & they're no longer liberal after some years.
assuming that translates to reality or everyone's experience is wrong but is quite typical for the average conservative.

Anyone have any insight on Evergreen or the surrounding towns?

I have to agree. There is a big difference between actually living somewhere and just visiting for a few days. Seems like you just went off of your preconceived notions about Boulder going in.
They're both college towns that have expanded and have their own thing going on.

no bud, only coors
Evergreen is a cool town with lots of good running trails around it (Lair o' the Bear, Three Sisters, Bergen Peak, pretty much all of the mount evans SWA). It isn't cheap, though. I used to train up there 25 years ago. A lot has changed up there (all the hippies have been replaced by yuppies), but the trails are still pretty much the same.
Everyone in Colorado has been saying shit every decade like the hippies have been replaced by the yuppies. By definition, hippies must have been there at some point. What year was it? 60s? 1980s, mid 90s? Who are these mysteriously cool people?
