If you have access to a car, travel north on State Route #23 toward Deleware. Approximately 3 miles north of the I-270 outerbelt will be Highbanks Metropark. It is on the left with a brown or green (can't remember) sign on the right as you approach. If you include the dog trail it is 8-9 miles without repeating of well groomed trails with rolling hills.
Thanks for the quick reply. No car. I'm stuck between here and Polaris.
I live a few miles from the city so my ability to help may be depleted. Give the specific location of your hotel and maybe I, or others, can give you an alternative to the treadmill.
This is the description from the website. These roads mean nothing to me. I'm getting shuttled back and forth. Thank you for your help.
The Sheraton Suites Columbus is an elegant, full-service, All-Suites property. The hotel is centrally located on the north side of Columbus, at Interstate 270 and state Route 23 North, only 15 miles from the Columbus International Airport
Get on a hotel computer (unless you have your own) and go to mapquest.com. It appears you'd be okay heading north and east....go out/back.
Great idea. Looks like Highbanks MetroPark is in the area. Is that an option? Some golf courses and cemetery's also.
Neil: You are a short jog from the Olentangy Bike trail. It's on the South west side of the 23 - 270 intersection you are staying at, and runs parallel to Rt. 315. You are on the far north end of the trail, which can take you down 8-9 miles into the Park of Roses. It's flat as a board, but not too bad a place to train. I can't remember the name of the road that runs parallel to 270 and leads down to the bike trail, but run the mapquest for the area and you should get the idea. You also are an exit west from Sharon Woods Metropark, which has a 4 mile bike trail loop as well.

Highbanks was my first suggestion and in my opinion the best place to run in Columbus. I wouldn't attempt to run there as it is still 2-3 miles away on a very busy road. You may be able to get the airport shuttle to take you and pick you up since it is so close, or even a worker give you a quick ride & return. If you cannot get a ride, there is a girl scout camp (Mary Orton I believe) a little closer. I do not know the rules but know people who run there (trails). It is on the left as you head north on #23 & I am guessing about a mile or less from your hotel. There is also a seminary or some sort of large grassy area just across #23 from your hotel next to the golf course. These might also be options. Hopefully others with more precise knowledge can help out. Good luck.
