He is a 1:44 high runner. That isn't a medal threat. If he is lucky he will make it to the final. Hey occasionally stuff happens (i.e. maybe he runs 1sec pr, maybe their is a pile up he avoids) but there were 12 sub 1:44 guy (counting only 3 kenyans) last year. Some of them will screw up in the heats but that is still a lot of guys that are noticeably faster.

Unlikely to make the final. He can barely break 1:45 and the medalists are 1:41-1:42 men.
Hell, 1:42 didn't even medal at the last games.
