Hoka wider than Altra? I find that hard to believe.
The Clifton 3 runs small. Size up a half size if you get it. My entire store got seeded pairs and everyone had the same issue with them.
All Altras break down fast. They're still on 1st generation foam--they blow out/flatten and harden in about 200 miles.
Friend of mine has the Clifton 3 and says it's better than the previous Clifton. All the best with getting back into running man.

I meant wider than the previous Clifton 2. Altras are the widest I do have a pair of Torins I use for drills/gym work but their lack of a ride or pop doesn't really make for an everyday trainer.
