Carlos Lopes ran a 27:17 10K to break the previous world record of 27:22 held by Henry Rono earlier in the year 1984... when he won the gold medal in the Olympic marathon. He also had a 5k PR around 13:08.
The 10k PR of Galen Rupp is two back to back 13:22 5ks with no rest.
He was slower than his 5k split and got outkicked by 2 guys tonight. One of those guys hardly anybody has heard of.
Yea. That sounds exactly like the results you would want as a good fitness check for Galen.
