No, they don't pay "way more". And in the few cases that do pay a lot, the reduction clauses can very easily decimate the total amount. Now we know why Kiprop races himself into the ground every year, why he toes the line half asleep at the Pre meet every year. How much is Kiprop's base pay with Nike? Bet it is only a little over $100k/year.

Brazier would do himself better to stay one more year training with a good coach at TA&M, gain consistency in his times and get $750 base.
