Before any rumors get started I just wanted to say that my injury is NOT related to my training in flats.
I know word is getting out about my stress fracture and I want to kill any speculation by stating the facts.
My doctor says this is a latent injury that started happening a LONG time ago. I definately attribute this to my years of running in heavy shoes and is one of the reasons I tossed them out. It is a testimate to the minimalist approach that it took this long to become a problem.
Anyway, a few weeks of pool running and step master and I expect to be back at it stronger that before. Training in flats has taught my feet how to run and this will pay off big time for my recovery.
