Shay ran the Mercedes half this weekend in 1:05 and change. Look at the course profile, and you will notice it had some serious hills. Quite impressive. Anyone know his next marathon?

He did a good job yesterday in Birmingham on a fairly tough course. He still has quite a bit of time to get ready to make a strong showing at Boston, some time at altitude will definitely help. Good luck Ryan! And since it's Valentine's Day, what the hell, will you be my Valentine?
65mins is not a bad performance but wake up guys, in japan(or anywhere else) 28min low guys run 62min halfs, i know several runners who can't break 29:30 but run 65min halfs.
People on this board said it was a geat performance when Dan Browne ran 63high in the US-Champs, why?
Takaoka is only as fast as Browne in the 10k and runs 2x63mins low back to back.
Brian Sell running 59min for 20k thats a good performance, something you would expect from a 28min low 10k-guy.
He could be primed for a breakthrough run at Boston as well. The crowds will have strong support for him, Culpepper and Mark Carroll. Boston is supportive of the Kenyans, nbut some American and Irish faces in the top 15 or so will be a well received suprise.
Shay always seems to run a fast half marathon going into track season...
is VERY hilly...Shay will be fit, and ready to go for Boston. Should be a good race this year...Culp, Shay, Lehmkuhle...some good US Men running this year!
Shay was one of the 10 raffle winners for the Mercedes M-Class they gave away after the race. His key was not the winner though.
Sell from Hansons will be there to spoil the party for those guys as well.
Check the profile of this course. It is not easy. This could have been a 62 on a flat houston like course.
Actually, I talked to him after the race. He used it as a tempo run more than anything cause the payout was pretty low, like $750 for first compared to $500 for second. He figured it was a good tempo run and why wear himself out before Boston for an extra $250. Remember, some pro's use smaller races for strategic training/tuners. I mean if someone was gonna pay for my flight/hotel and pay me $500 bucks for running a race and I was supposed to do a long tempo run anyways, why the hell not go to the race, make some spending money and eat some southern cookin.
