Might be an issue in a small state like AK. Anyone know if those times are competitive? Guessing not, but they aren't terrible and he is beating some ladies.
I looked at the picture. She's got a pretty good built for running. She's taller than the other girls and she has narrow hips.
It's very possible that it's her first season of track and that she only had a few weeks of training (snow melted not long ago in Alaska). If that's the case, then she has enough natural speed to run a 53 or 54 (400m) and with a bit of endurance work could run sub 2 for the 800m.
Some small NCAA school should try to scoop her up.
She could certainly be NCAA champion in a few years

Think of a school like Coppin State for example...
and this is why the ancient olympics the athletes had to compete in the nude...always some PC crowed trying to get someone into something they shouldnt belong in...dudes in chick sports, dudes in womans bathrooms, whites pretending to be black, blah blah blah
I would recruit only trans women i f I was a coach. The ENTIRE yeam. And win the NCAA women's championship
I would completely take advantage
but there is a huge problem, most transgenders i have ever scene were giant cowards, super lazy drama queens....like taking flamboyant gayness to ridiculous heights
i would bet that the americanized transgenders at best will run 20min 5ks, miss lots of practice and be more of a headache than anything. but if you get 3rd world transgenders then yes you prob could win nationals every year
Not only will we win but media will make us hero's and describe our championship campaign as "courageous" .

Yes, but it has to start with one.
This girl probably got the courage to run track this year because she was inspired by Jenner.
If an open minded, progressive college recruits her, they will probably contend at NCAA this year.

That's the old school transgenders. Make way for the trans-generation: Women that look like men, talk like men, act like men, run like men, but identify as women. This my friend, is the future of woman athletics.

False. This is just the end of women's sports.
Damn.
I could have identified as a female and won pretty much every event at my high school state meet save the 100, 200, and 100 hurdles.

Please get back to us in a year or two, or ten, and we'll see whether or not you are right.

This is the biggest cesspool of idiots I have ever seen. Truly you are mighty men anonymously attacking a young girl, going through a stressful change in her life to finally feel comfortable in her own skin. Stop pretending this is some willy nilly choice to undergo estrogen/testosterone treatments to begin transitioning to the proper gender. None of you are smarter than the doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and other professionals that recognize gender dysphoria as a real thing that can be found in the DSM V and other medical textbooks.
To imply this is simply a way to earn a scholarship is disgusting. Do you not understand how much is done to transition? How emotionally, mentally and physically draining it can be? And to do that for years to get a full ride and then what? Just stop taking estrogen treatments as your body detransitions? Look up the Georgian transgender woman who ended up in a men's prison and hear her story about the pain she felt as she was cut off from her treatments and her body changed. This isn't some attention or money grab.
This is the way to clean up fill up the local races with guys running as gals.
Will eliminate the need for drugs.
Since the RD seem to not care one of them can keep their eyes closed and a woman's marathon record will be born.
Just make all sports unisex and the problem is solved
No need to take hormone treatments to compete as a male in women HS sports. ANYONE can identify as a woman and compete and claim sponsorships. NO ONE is allowed to ask any questions.
Now shut up with your touchy feely bitching.
wow what you just described sounds like a mental health issue.....since when do you or me or anyone else need doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, socail workers, and other professionals....and unNATURAL hormones to "change"
do you see a male dog or male polar bear trying to be a female? no cause its not natural, you just proved how much bull$hit is needed to "change" and how painful the change is....sounds normal to me for sure
and stop calling it a "her"
it was born a male, if he still has a penis then how can you call it a her? caster was born with a vagina and she is called a man, go figure

Of all the dumb shit I read on this site, this is up there. Only on letsrun does someone look at a 13-second 100m runner and immediately think ... "sub 2 800 runner!"
Couldn't all of this "I feel like a woman" crap be abolished by making those who are truly transgender be diagnosed? It is a disorder with recognizable symptoms, and I say we treat it as such. If you want to be considered transgender, you must be diagnosed by a doctor. It solves the problem of anyone "feeling like a girl" to get scholarships, championships, records etc. If I am wrong about the symptoms being easy to diagnose than this idea is thrown out the door, but from what I hear from transgender supporters, they always describe it as a mental disorder.
This still doesn't solve the problem of true transgender Male to Females competing in female sports. In that case I say you compete with the people of your biological sex, end of story. If born with male parts, you compete with males and if born with female parts, you compete with females. Keep the current rules about extra chromosomes, which from my understanding make anyone in the gray area compete with men. Differences in body physique and hormones will not allow for fair competition.

Yep, pretty sure that if she has only been running for a few weeks and can run 13.1 and 26.6, then she may have the ability to run sub 2 in three or four years if she trains for it.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
