See Derek Rose in the 2011 playoffs. LeBron ruined him for life.

Here is a fact. Do you understand English or need picture cards to help you?
OKC HAS DEMOLISHED GSW AND HAS A 3-1 LEAD AND WESTBROOK HAS WRECKED CURRY.
You gave me a fact and an opinion. Congratulations, you're halfway there!

Just how fast is Russell Westbrook? What do you all suppose he could run for 100m, 200m, and 400m?
This is the only interesting component of this thread.
I'd give him 11.2, 23.5, and 48.5 just off current fitness.
If he trained specifically for running? I bet he could be a 45-point guy in the 400.

Actually that 23.5 is way too slow. He should be able to get closer to 23.0 or 22.9

Kawhi Leonard (aka the BEST defender in the league) was 12th in steals this season. James Harden (aka the WORST defender in the league) was 13th. Enough said.
Read what I wrote. It's not a pure measure of good defense. But "zero defense," which is what he wrote, is stupid.
I did read what you wrote. I also happen to have read what "Boost" wrote. Perhaps we should start there - did you not understand boost's post? Here, let me clue you in - "zero defense" means "poor defender". I know that this can be confusing for those unable to understand common, not always 100% literal, English.
So, now that we understand that "zero defense" is not something to be taken literally and that every native English speaker would obviously understand that we move on to 'steals'. The steals statistic is not only "not a pure measure of good defense" but it is basically irrelevant and should NEVER be cited by anyone trying to justify someone as a good/bad/adequate defender.

Two off the top of my head:
Lebron shutting down Derrick Rose
Hakeem making David Robinson look silly
Listen to this man ^. He knows that of which he speaks.
RW has exposed Currys' "cutsie" game.
Jordan would have shut Curry down, and run all over him also.
Steals are actually an extremely valuable measure as they lead directly to fast break opportunities, the most efficient offensive possessions. So you deny your opponent an opportunity to get off any kind of shot and provide an opportunity for a very high value possession for your team.
...when you light that big ass firework on the fourth of July and as you run away it tips over and shoots everywhere and all he'll breaks loose with people screaming and running in all directions.
That said, he is gonna crash at like 30 years old. Even worse than Wade. Has absolutely abused his body.

Lebron shutting down Derrick Rose...for real man.
I wanted the Bulls to win that series so bad, but Rose had no chance in the 4th quarter when Lebron was on him.
Credit has to be given to Russell Westbrook for being the best player in the playoffs right now.
His level is way up and his effort is all out, all game.

No. No, they are not.

You are confusing two concepts.
1) A steal is a good thing and can lead to fast break opportunities.
This is undeniably true. Anyone who knows anything at all about basketball knows this.
2) The statistic of "steals per game" for an individual says ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about how competent of a defender an individual is.
This is undeniably true. Anyone who knows anything at all about basketball knows this. For those who are novices please see note above regarding James Harden, the absolute worst defender in the NBA.
Now, that I have cleared that up for you. Try to relax, focus and gradually come to internalize the reality that both 1) and 2) above are true.

How has Wade crashed? He's 34 and still playing at a high level. I do agree that Russ needs to learn how to land on his feet after his drives. He still crashes into the cameramen after every lay up.

That's a joke. He'd be a lot faster than that. I'm nowhere near the athlete Westbrook is but I'm way faster than those times.
Try 10.7s/22.5s/47.5s

Have you ever seen basketball players run? They suck. He couldn't break 50.
Are you aware that every basketball player is different?
