Don't summon me.
Don't summon me.
This thread is awfully quiet after yesterday. Is the entire NESCAC too DEVASTATED to post after getting beat by Massachusetts "peaks too early" Institute of Technology?
MIT ran a gutsy race. Deyo and Maloney have come a long way since Purple Valley. With that being said, Williams did bench their top runner. With him in the mix it would have been a clear Williams victory. We also have one week left, so MIT still has a chance to peak early and go home devastated.
It'll be exciting to see so many NESCAC teams at Nationals this year. There's depth up front too: Nichols looks like he has a legit shot at winning the meet, and 5 or six NESCAC guys could break into the top-15.
...Nevermind...
The qualifiers just came out. Looks like we're only sending four NE teams to Nationals.
-MIT
-Williams
-Amherst
-Middlebury
We received the same number of bids as the South region.
Jamie Norton, who runs the mile in 406, stays home DEVASTATED.

Just wanted to inform you nationals is what matters. Who is planning on finishing DFL next week?
very off topic - but for all you middlebury runners, how fast would I have to be to walk on to the cross country and track teams?
I ran a 4:47 mile as a junior and just came off an abysmal cross country season - how fast would I have to run this track season to get on the team?
I'm more of a middle distance type.
Thanks.

Is Joe short for Joanna? If so, I'd say you are going to be in their top 7 next fall even if you don't improve.

Contact the coach is advice from an old guy with kids who have been through this.
Sorry everyone, my little bro Rasheed got a little drunk before posting that. A couple things:
1. Williams didn't "bench" their top guy, dude is injured, he didn't run Conference.
2. Jamie Norton, a 4:06 miler, is in fact not DEVASTATED and will be at nationals with the candy lads on Nov. 19th.
Willy Boys, where's Hale at?
He took a job at Kraft to help make the world's finest string cheese.
I'm switching Hale's knees out at the shop. I keep finding bits of string cheese every time I dig around in there. No idea where his tendons went. I need to do a few tests before we get him out there, but he'll be up and running before the big dance. These new models should hold up for at least a few months.
Hale tells me he can't "f**kin wait to shred' both the competition and his tendons at Nationals. He says he keeps himself busy in the pool by thinking about Luke O'Connor's dirty 'stache and puzzling over Will Dudek's hair. He keeps muttering something about 'roast beef' and 'being a scrub'. I guess all that swimming makes you hungry?
does at @Timmy Tickles know his real name? does @Grumpy Boy rustle at the idea of getting ***TRUMPED*** by Matt "Double Boot" Deyo?
Is it roast beff or roast beaf? will he reveal his identity at the end of the season?
will the any sneaky snek's from new england dethrone those from the states to blame for DONALD J TRUMP'S GLORIOUS ASCENSION to the HIGHEST OFFICE IN THE LAND?
You NESCAC liberal babies are going down next week. Good luck finding a real man's job with your underwater basket weaving degrees. You probably voted for Hillary anyway. Why don't yah just secede? Leave our pristine corn alone.
Maybe you guys should prioritize running a bit more. Do a few 6am doubles with the entire team. Write a book about your DIII running program during your spare time. I've been getting 8 hours of sleep all season and I'm still crushing the classroom.
#MIDWEST IS BEST
#NEW ENGLAND IS A #JOKE
Without Hale, it's tough to see any New England team placing in the top 5. A hard fall from grace. The only piece of respect they can salvage will be from Tickles' 2nd place finish to LaMere.
I think Tufts can be top 5 tomorrow. My brother Ben may have graduated, but they still have great depth 3-7.
Hale sited running on the course today. Has what looks to be a piece of panty hose on his calf.
Will he be in the lineup tomorrow? We shall see. If he's on the line, and gets through the race, the Willy boys could podium.
can't see any New England teams on the podium this year. Williams was borderline even with a healthy Hale. Amherst is worse at every spot in the lineup compared to last year. Middlebury is just happy to be there. MIT's 4th and 5th runners finished 43rd and 48th at regionals. You typically need around 200 points to make the podium, and MIT is gonna score 200+ with their 4th and 5th guys alone.
on the individual side, I think Nicholls has a real shot against Lamere. maybe I'm crazy, but maybe not.
