We'd be scared to death to cut a course in N Korea unless the govt was in on it.

UH OH....looks like Doubler was sleeping here.
CIA should capture them and bring them to justice. 30 years of hard work would be appropriate.

Be sure to get the state haircut if you decide to chance it. That should knock 30 mins off your marathon time without running a step. Rossi could give them driving lessons, but they probably don't want to trust his math.
Shamateurs compared to Rossi when it comes to cheating and bad hair.
This is all a lie. I am in the same training group as those two gentlemen and know that they are nothing but models of integrity who would never cheat.
Hardly a Mike Rossi. The Coach said these guys were 100 meters behind the leaders at 35k. Then finished 4 & 5 without his runners notice being passed. Ya maybe a short cut but if they are 100m behind are they not close to 2:15-16?
I find it very hard to believe North Korea would be dishonest in order to promote themselves...

1) It's a wire story written by Race Results Weekly so it was already out there.
2) The fact that they haven't been DQd could mean they already have official support.
3) If #2 isn't true,t hen more than 2 people could be executed. But hell the dictator is so unpredictable he may appreciate their cheating attempt.
Won't be executed. That's not how North Korea rolls. They will send them and their extended families to labor camps to be worked/starved for the rest of their lives.
Maybe I'll write an article on this and Kim-Jog-Il's golf game.
On 2nd thought, I can deal with Rossi and Patriot Runner guy threatening me..but I draw the line with dictators.
Who cares about these 2 guys? I heard from North Korea state sports news truth network that Kim Jung Un ran the marathon in 41 minutes. He would easily win the Olympic race if not for the corruption of the imperialist west.
I was at the race. I ran the half marathon and finished third in the 'amateur division.' The 10k / half marathon and marathon were all had the same start and shared the same loop.
The trip to the DPRK was fascinating and I highly recommend it.
The chip timing was a joke / did not work.
The marathon finish was indeed a mess. Negassa had the win locked up. I saw him right before he entered the stadium - he had a good lead over Pak and was looking strong. He entered the stadium and went to the left, dutifully following the pace car as he had done for the last 2 hours and 10 minutes. Unfortunately, in this case he should have NOT followed the car, as the course went to the right. By the time he figured it out, he it was too late / he could not catch back up enough in the final 200 yards. Everyone who saw it groaned and felt awful for Negassa. During the awards ceremony, Negassa was obviously Very upset. Whether or not this was a plot to award the win to the home team, or an honest mistake .. will always remain shrouded in DPRK mystery. - Alex Tilson

Peter Bol: independent testing says he did not take EPO - Can the EPO test be trusted?
Explain Like I'm 5: Why should I make my 800 guy do lots of long runs?
