i run in BOA 1" shorts!
Josh Thomson ( the kid who went from 4:16 in juco to 3:57 or whatever at Oklahoma State this indoor season ) wears basketball shorts 0_0 >.> not a troll.
I have one pair of Brooks 9" inseam that I wear when running from the office or when I go to the gym, then run immediately afterwards. They aren't bad at all and I've even ran tempos in them with no problems. If I'm on the trails or track, I'm in 3" splits. My preferred length for most runs are 5". Haven't tried 7" shorts.
Race, fast workout, anything on a track: 3"
Normal runs, tempos, long runs: 5"
Run to/at gym: 7"
I run in the Nike Phenom 11" which is discontinued for some reason! It was best of breed!

I do 9" inseam but only because it's the minimum length I can do without having my johnson hanging out and bobbing around for every one to see.
Have you not tried the revolutionary athletic support 'Weld On Johnson'?

This is my go-to as well.
Can't you go metric?
I wear 2-3" inseam for everything. Can't stand longer shorts. If guys raced in speedos, I'd probably wear one. But to answer op's question, I've seen people running in knee length running shorts.
You mean something like this? http://i37.tinypic.com/2rpxszq.jpg
Dumb as a rock
What is your inseam? wrote:
It seems ridiculous. Who wears such a thing to run in?
9" look like you're trying to play basketball. I exclusively wear between 3-5" or half tights
I run in bun huggers.
Haha this is amazing
