Wikipedia says Jason Hartmann weighs 203, and he ran 2:11 (131), so he'd be 80 over. Now obviously, 203 is wrong, but Hartmann, at 6'3, has a good shot to score well here. Anyone know his real weight?

I am 170 lbs 152 min (2:32) 18 under.
Yes achieving this useless/random stat is easier for taller runners (I am 6'3")
A recent string of great marathons by a tall heavier guy
Jason Hartmann
His weight is listed as 203 lbs
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Hartmann
That has to be wrong (unless its his current post competitive weight)
If that is true, however, he is 72 under (131 min, 2:11 and 203 lbs)
But being taller and weighing more is an overall disadvantage for marathoners.
Extra weight means more impact, lower surface area to mass ratio (poorer hear dissipation).
Don't envy the longer strides, they do not help much in a marathon.
I regularly lose 6-7 lbs in a hard workout. Glycogen is stored in a 1 to 3 ratio with water. Bigger muscles = bigger glycogen storage. But higher energy costs per mile than a smaller and lighter runner so its all a wash.
2 marathons. 149 minutes at 155 lbs. 168 minutes at 160 lbs. 5' 10"
Started marathoning when I needed motivation after topping 200 lbs in 2014
-2:57 at 187 (-10)
-DNF at 18 due to stomach flu at 178 (180 pre flu)
-The next weekend I tried again but was still so depleted from the flu and previous attempt that I blew up to a 2:59 at 177. Nothing like the stomach flu to shed pounds and add time and fail at this pointless contest.
-Next Monday hopefully 2:42 at 174 (-12)
I just did it as a test. I ran a 145 minute marathon weighing over 9000 pounds. I carried a mormon family on my shoulders and pulled an airplane.

That had to be at the St George Marathon. It's not record eligible, so you are out of the contest.

Age 54, 2004 Tuscon 2:57:45 = 177.75, weight 160 lbs
Igy
So you didn't make it at your peak and have gotten farther away. Bravo.

A 1:18 "half a marathon" is guaranteed sub 2:45 for the marathon so you could be close!
Was 190 at 6'0'' when I an 2:52 (172 minutes).
I managed a 2:26 (146 minutes) full marathon at 176 lbs.
Note I am 6 feet tall
Mike Rossi would be proud of some of you guys.

The best of this I know of for sure was Dan Franek, who ran 2:22 weighing at least 180.

My last marathon I weighed 165.2 on race morning and ran it in about 161.15 minutes. FWIW I'm 5'11". Obviously this is more attainable for taller runners.
useless/random stat: Who has run under their weight (kgs) in the half marathon (mins)?
2:25:44 (145:44) at about 175 many years ago.
I don't want to speak for him, but surely Wejo did the same at Cowtown 2015 when he broke 3:00. It must be genetics.

Serious? No way a 1:18 half is a guaranteed sub 2:45... Maybe guaranteed sub 2:55?
155 lbs. of low-grade meat.
138 minute marathon PR. (2:18)

There are no guarantees at all. Halves and Fulls are completely different beasts, completely different species.
I ran 2:34 at 140lbs (14)
I have a friend that ran 2:31 at 190lbs (39)
He's a muscular freak of nature
134 min. marathon
130lbs, 6' tall
I should have said +14 for me. I failed.
-39 for my friend. He succeeded by a lot.
