The problem is he's not an idiot, you can tell by pointed use of big, fancy words, so you've got to assume he's smart enough to cover up at least some of his tracks. I expect what we know from the links above is just the tip of the iceberg.

Hilary Stellingwerff missed making the finals in the 1500m by one spot at the 2012 Olympics because of a doper. I can only assume that is one of the things DST is talking about.

Isn't Reid CÃ’olsaet a member of that group but trains in Kenya frequently where he says that Kenyans are are given advance notice when they will be drug tested.. and i assume that includes himself.

I take any comment from DST with a massive grain of salt.

"On 9 December 2010 Reyes Estévez López was arrested and questioned in relation to his involvement in a Spanish sports doping ring as part of the Guardia Civil's Operation Galgo."

You could go through all the guys in that 2008 Olympic 1500, and see if a google search reveals any association with doping.

As well, any Russian middle distance female is doped to the eyeballs.

Cutting corners and cheating is what some of his athletes have been accused of over the past few years. Receiving carding and national team spots they don't deserve takes those things away from other athletes, limiting their dreams.

Stellingwerf was bumped out of a place in the Olympic 1500 by drug cheat Yekaterina Aleksandrovna Kostetskaya.

Why is this coach getting grilled here for being anti-doper. We all know many of the top runners are doped, and that many countries have systemic doping regimes.

So why are we not happy that someone is calling this out.

The problem is the hypocrisy of only taking issue with one subset of a subculture - that subculture being cheaters - while being directly involved in another subset of the subculture of cheaters, one that could even be described as systemic given the roles of Moulton and Scott-Thomas in their respective provincial and national committees that have led to some of the cheating.

There are people who cheat. However there are not any where near the number people accuse of cheating.

It's like the Salem-witch trials.

It's also ruining the sport.

Exactly. If we all know many of the top runners are doped and he doesn't actually call anyone out, then he isn't contributing anything new here. That plus the hypocrisy of complaining about cheaters when his club has been caught in several minor scandals is rather sad.

Yeah Cheat River is right on point. I used to always cheer for the university of guelph program and speed river, and initially defended them when this kind of stuff started coming out, but there's just way too many sketchy incidents related to Speed River to even consider defending them anymore.

I admired the program Dave built in the late 1990s and early 2000s when they were outworking other groups, but it's become very clear they don't think outworking others is enough and they need to cheat.

Dave Scott-Thomas complains about the impact that dopers have had on his athletes, while his club attempts to cheat their way to receiving athlete carding and the financial benefits of hosting 4 years of Canadian XC champs.

He gets the top OFSAA athletes then you never hear from them again!

What happened to Ontario Junior 5,000m record holder Heather Petrick and the girl that had the Ontario Junior 5,000m record before her, Madeline Yungblut. Are they both still in Guelph or did they stop running?

I remember there was a strong group of steeplechase women there as well with Lydia W., Dana Buchanan, Meredith someone, and Gen Lalonde. I've only heard of Lalonde the last few years, are the others still running competitively?
