Awesome performance on a hot day. Quite impressive.

No.
Yes.
no, Hall's debut was faster.
This one was hot of course though, and he was clearly easing up the last 2 miles or so once he knew he was solidly in the lead.
Behind Men's silver.
Definitely. Much better than Frank Shorter getting gold at the Olympics, and crap like that.
Team saladbar has the best PEDs
You should have seen Rupp's "performance" back in the day when he was on testosterone. Now that was awesome.

Don't forget all the sharp turns on this crap of a course. Likely added a minute or so to the finishing time.
I'm more interested in what his post-race workout consisted of...

That's some funny stuff. People who know no history of the sport certainly jump to conclusions, don't they?
Not even in the top four considering just him and his coach.
No. But a marathon medal in Rio might be, considering the caliber of competition he will face there (much tougher than in Shorter's day).
His silver in London is his own best performance so far.

Wrong ... Rupp was suffering the last 2 miles. He hit the wall at 24+.
He was obviously sun fried in the post race interview.
I haven't checked past results, but I am sure there have been previous American winners of the trials.
A better question. If he wins in Rio will he be GOAT American distance runner? I say if it is an honest victory (good field, good time) I say yes. Forget the personality factor.

I think if that happens, the answer is yes without even a debate. 3:50 mile, sub 13 and 27, Olympic silver at 10k, a billion US titles... if he adds a marathon medal to that list, I think it is a done deal.
yeah he looked like he was dying those last two miles, you know when he was smiling and giving thumbs up to everyone. Oh and man that jump into the tape at the finish line, dude must have been dead!
Impressive, no doubt but if you think it was the greatest ever by an American I think you need to learn a little running history.

According to the announcers, who I assume had been on the course, the turns were not that sharp. Looked less so that I imagined when I saw the course map.
So what if it added a minute? It was not a time trial. None of the contenders needed an "A" standard.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
