Damn, Abbey was quoted as saying she wanted to get under 8:50
The one announcer with the habit of smacking his lips as he talks is real annoying. Who is this guy?
Who are these two clowns out the back after 100m of the mile? How did the even get in this race?
For Jones to get 4th in that field and break 8 sec after hip labrum surgery last fall was impressive. Near miss on Rollins with a grenade launcher.
You guys creepin on the skinny distance runners need to take a look at.the 400 meter runners. I always thought Harper Nelson had a great rack though.
Ouch, Uceny falls, Hutchings says all these falls can't be a coincidence. He's also touting Brenda's 4:04 like she just killed it.
Haha oh my god Uceny falls again! I agree with the commentators, at this point she has fallen so many times you really have to question if it's really just a freak accident or not. At the very least it has clearly become a mental issue with her that she's got stuck in her head.

Wasn't that Moser who went down?
Uceny didn't fall, idk what these announcers were watching. Someone in a black singlet stumbled, Moser ran into her back and went down, Uceny was then slowed a bit by having to jump over Moser but didn't actually go down.
Abbey D lookin' fine as hale.
And holy crap who was that pacemaker in the women's 1500??? Hnnnnnnggggggg.
Too late
The internet said Uceny fell.
It's now searchable.
The announcers were all around horrible in the women's 1500. I'm pretty sure it wasn't Ucency who fell. I saw someone stumble off the track and come back on the track in front of Moser and that's when Moser fell.

I was there, it was moser
Let us not forget to focus on what is important: Rachel Johnson, Brenda Martinez, Corey McGee, and LoLo Jones are freaking hot!
It looks like it was McGee who tripped Moser.
Once again Hutchings is wrong.

Just too many runners. 1 or 2 too few in the men's mile, it felt like a tiny race, but too many in the women's 1500. At the start I predicted issues and hoped to be wrong. Ugh. Not wise and inviting trouble. Watching again a runner (I think McGee) tried to pass Moser on the inside, went into the infield, came back and cut her off, and then Moser was pushed down by another runner as Moser braked to avoid smashing into McGee who came veering back across after her stumble. Id like to imagine they invited enough to have a great race if a few could not make it, but everyone showed up. :-)
Tons of World Leads, in the 600m and 300m obviously
DEFAR in the Womens 3k
Defar was insane, right on the pacer. 8:30 was incredible, she looked incredibly strong.
Nick Willis looked great, winning comfortably in 3:53, never really looked like he was straining until the final lap. He is in great shape for the Wannamaker Mile next week.
In the mens 3000m, brett Robinson actually gave Gebremeskel someone to to fight with over the final 600m, though Dejen ultimately destroyed him over the final 200, putting a solid second on him. Lalang was closing furiously but wasn't in contention.
Mens 1000m was a great race, Abda was in the front with the pacer up until 200m to go, but died an incredible death the final 200m. Wheating looked very strong in closing for 2:18, Solomon actually closed fairly well which is a good sign for him.
His family friend after the race
Family friend after the race: "Wow you're so popular with all these autographs"
Andrew: "Only on weekends"
I met him finally, he is exactly what you think he'd be like.
Of course I couldn't actually say anything to him cause I was awstruck, but it was a great meet, and I'm surprised it didn't get much coverage on letsrun.

Everytime I watch these broadcasts I want to cringe. I can't help but wonder how we can fix those sorts of issues and make T&F more appealing to the average viewer. If you're scrolling through the channels and come across T&F, how do we get you to stick around for a bit?
The answer is to get rid of the distance events.
The time schedule for the events covered on TV covered 1 hour and 47 minutes. Of that time, there were two breaks of 30 minutes between the women's 300 and 60m hurdles and between the 60m hurdles and the men's 60m, and that time period covered the two 3000m events and the time around them. And there was another 17 minutes of distance only action after the men's 60m. So, almost 75% of the time for the TV broadcast was distance crap.
NOBODY GIVES A DAMN ABOUT DISTANCE CRAP. My wife, who was a varsity D1 tennis player and does not run (like the majority of Americans), watches NFL football, pro basketball, tennis, and sprints and hurdles.....but immediately changes the channel if distance running comes on for even 30 seconds.
I recorded the whole broadcast, and we watched the men's and women's 300 and 60, 60m hurdles, shot, and Jen Suhr....and that took a whopping 10 minutes or so. There are way too many alternatives to getting bored by distance crap, and nobody who is not a distance runner is going to put up with it.
