Doesn't Burroughs mostly handle the women's teams? Having a female assistant as a buffer is really smart. He can write the workouts and Heather will administer them. Wetmore may not even have to speak with the transfer. If she stands out he can say "good job" a couple of times per year. That will circumvent any possible mischief.
Both coaches are very involved with the women's team, unlike Oregon where the Powell's pretty much do their own thing with their respective teams (can't think of another coach duo in a similar situation).
I don't know Morley or her folks, and I am not trying to protect her from the big, bad internet demons, but the OP with the thread title and lots of posters here are spouting a lot of unsubstantiated crap. All we really know is that she wasn't happy with her experience and decided to transfer. The media asked why and she basically said she and the coach don't see things the same way. She didn't trash him that I have seen. Would we all prefer it if she gave the usual PC say nothing, mealy-mouthed nonsense we typically get from athlete? I think she was doing her best to be honest but not personally critical. Those calling her a bitch need to grow up. She's young but she's entitled to have an opinion. And once she decided to transfer, why would she or her "camp" do anything to get the coach fired. Why would she care? She's gone. A quick thanks for the memories and buh bye, and she is done with it. Those trying to categorize her actions as those of a vindictive, over privileged prima donna are reaching.
That said, if this AD really fired his XC coach because one young star decided to transfer elsewhere, the blame lies with him not Morley.
