Where?
Any updates on the race?
Solid race for Lamere in 28:38 but not close to the standard. Was Johnny Crain a pacer? Former D3 AA Noah Droddy was second in 28:22.
He ran 29:26.

Yeah that was disappointing. Oh well, time off and start over fresh in a few weeks for cross.
Seriously, he had already run a full out 10k time trial, another (admittedly probably tempo pace) 10k at conference, and then a hard-run 10k in 80+ degree heat on a black track all in the last... 2 months? Absolutely nothing wrong with having a dud and being a little tired out physically/emotionally after the amazing season he has had.
Not to mention his "dud" race would have probably still won nattys. Kudos to the kid.
He did go out in 14:00 for the first 5k, gotta give him credit for running the fastest 5k of the year in DIII. And the fastest 10k in DIII this year, in one race.

Also watched the race. Leader went through 5k in 13:58 and Ian was only a few meters behind. 14:00 is about right.

Cool, thanks!
lol yeah what a dud 29:26. only about 60 DI guys ran faster than that and a 14 flat first 5k is just a bit significant too. the dude is a monster

Did I need to worship him a little more so it was clear I wasn't dissing him? I surmised a 28:38 guy was probably a little tired from the season when he ran a 10k 50 seconds slower than his PR. That is a sub par race for him. Of course it is still better than anyone else in D3.
Think of it like this: Jamie Norton runs a 4:18 mile (impossible, because Jamie Norton is a 4:06 guy and thus runs 4:06). In this impossible alternate reality, his 4:18 would be a dud, because he is a 4:06 runner, and 4:06 is superior to 4:18. But it would still be better than a lot of people can run. But that doesn't mean 4:18 isn't a dud for a 4:06 guy like Jamie Norton, who runs the mile in 4 minutes and 6 seconds.
Jamie Norton doesn't run the mile on 4:18, he runs the mile in 4:06. I don't understand your point.
Aren't you a Plattesvile guy? Guess we know which team started the Jamie Norton 4:06 joke.
It's not a joke, it's a movement.
Marquardt ran 3:42.01 at Princeton last night.
