My issue is suing the university for not protecting her.
If she came to the AD or someone else and they failed to act then I can see that, but it is hard to protect someone that never lets you know they are in danger to begin with.
Also, he was going to blackmail her with the naked photos. Gonna say that naked photos of a person is not that big of a deal these days. Actually she then had more power than he did. She could say, "Send them out but under university policy and NCAA documents having even a consensual sexual relationship would just get you fired".
Yes he was in a powerful position (scholarship, coaching, meet appearances, etc) but she was not helpless and should have done something much sooner to stop the rape after that first attack.
Women need to report these assaults to the police (I trust them over university officials any day). That is part of the way to stop rapists.
