Congratulations to the men of Syracuse! Way to go, Orange!

Justyn Knight lives closer to Syracuse than most of the men on the team.

What happened to Virginia? For most of the season they were expected to finish top 10, and had only slipped out of that spot (into 13th I believe) as of the most recent rankings. They finished 22nd today, losing to a lot of teams they have beat this year, and their good showing at adidas Wisconsin. Any explanations?
Not a surprise after watching them at regionals. A good pack but really limited in their ceiling by a lack of low-sticks.
It actually shows how good Colorado is that in order for Syracuse to beat them, the Orange had to have an A+ race from everybody (but from Germano in particular - who could have seen that coming?) and CU had to have a couple of weak links (uncharacteristic of the Buffs in most NCAA XC Championships).
Run it 10 times with this field of teams and CU would probably win the majority of them. But as the cliche goes (and leave it to me to find the cliche that fits like a glove, as well as mix my metaphors), that's why they run the race. "Probably" doesn't count on the day. You only get one roll of the dice and the 'Cuse stepped into the ring and hit a 500-foot homer.
Half of the CU team bonked plain and simple. Over the last 2K Pearson lost 9 places, Winter lost 5 and Moussa lost 7. This is very atypical of a Wetmore coached team. Murphy (3rd) was 40 seconds ahead of the next CU runner. This never happened during the season. Every Buff (even Dressel and Saarel, who actually finished hard) ran well below their capability. Major concerns for Wetemore's training strategy need to be addressed after this season. Not to mention his last minute decision to burn Saarel's red shirt but also to run Zach Perrin instead of Ryan Forsyth. While Forsyth wouldn't have effected the scoring it seems pretty obvious that he would have finished top 55 or so while Perrin bonked just like Pre Nats and Pac 12s to finish an amazingly pathetic 195th. Wetmore, as great as he is, needs to re-evaluate alot of things this offseason.

Haha this guy ^^^ is an idiot. The dude goes 1st, 1st, and 2nd and he needs to "reevaluate in the off season." Jesus. Wetmore has been basically doing the same thing (with some tweaking) for 15+ years and winning championships. He finishes 2nd and all of the sudden he has to change everything...idiots!
